Every day as I am walking to the field with my horse I see the busy little swallows and house martins going about their business. Today I took my camera with me and set about capturing them as they came down to the puddle to gather mud and hay to build their nests. They will remain here over the Summer before migrating to Africa in the Autumn. .uk .cameras

Brood Parasitism: Sedge Warblers are one of the primary hosts for Cuckoos in the UK and Europe. The female Cuckoo secretly lays an egg in the warbler's nest. When it hatches, the Cuckoo chick ejects the host's eggs or chicks and tricks the tiny warbler into raising it as its own.

Because Cuckoos pose a serious threat to their offspring, Sedge Warblers are fiercely territorial and will actively mob and harass Cuckoos that venture too close to their nests. Video footage and stills taken with my OM1 MkII and the 150 - 400mm F4.5 1.25 x TC lens.

Really enjoyed this shoot today and had to put these 2 together before Willow left.

DOUBLE TAKE........

Pandora, and I had the pleasure of a shoot today with Willow the Cocker, and her pal Alfie the Collie, what lovely dogs they were, and both natural models, that were really comfortable in the studio.

We were struck by a more than passing resemblance between Willow, and one of our more familiar models........

I’m still going through my bear pictures from Finland and came across this one which demonstrates the start of the breeding season and the courtship phase. The males are much larger than the females so can be potentially dangerous so initially the female may run away or in this case, act aggressively to an approaching male. This will continue and I witnessed it myself with this pair over a few days as the male continued to earn her trust. .uk .cameras
