🦆🤎 Safe to say I’ve found another new favorite Cotswolds escape! 🤎🦆

From the moment I pulled up to The Wild Duck Inn, my eyes were immediately drawn to the gorgeous clock and mural. I knew before stepping in to the building, that I was in for something special!

Every single detail in the rooms and interiors, thoughtfully designed by owner Georgie Pearman, is an absolute dream.

Pair that with sublime, top-tier dining from morning to night and a team that made me feel so welcomed, and I’m completely sold.

It’s hard to believe they’ve only been open for six months, as it already feels like an instant classic!

🛶🤎 29 locks. 237 feet of vertical drop. All packed into just two miles of Wiltshire countryside 🤎🛶

Standing at the top of Caen Hill Locks, looking down a massive staircase of water, you can’t help but marvel at 19th-century engineering.

The middle section drops 16 locks in a single, perfectly straight line. Because the locks are squeezed so close together, normal canal sections couldn’t hold enough water to refill them without flooding. The fix? Giant, side-extended “pounds” off each lock that hold massive reserves of water, making the whole system run like clockwork.

It takes boaters roughly 5-6 hours of continuous lock-pushing to conquer the flight, and it’s hands-down one of the most rewarding engineering wonders in the UK!

🍃🤎 I recently walked amongst Puzzlewood Forests, and I am completely, utterly SPELLBOUND! 🤎🍃

Imagine stepping directly into a real-life fantasy world where ancient moss covers every single inch, giant twisted oak roots form secret hidden staircases, and towering, prehistoric-looking rock mazes make you feel like you’ve accidentally slipped through a portal into Middle-earth!

Shafts of pure golden sunlight pierce through the emerald canopy, turning the whole forest into a glowing, magical labyrinth that doesn’t even feel like it belongs on this planet.

Every turn in the path reveals another breathtaking, surreal view, and my mind is officially blown that a place this wildly beautiful and enchanted actually exists in real life!

🍃🤎 Finding total peace in the heart of the Forest of Dean 🤎🍃

Our recent escape to The Tudor Farmhouse was pure heaven from start to finish. We stayed in the Roost Suite, which felt like stepping into a cosy countryside dream. Complete with rustic exposed beam walls, high timber ceilings, and the dreamiest roll-top bath for long, lazy soaks after a day of exploring!

It’s the ultimate peaceful retreat, tucked away in Clearwell and just minutes from the enchanting, mossy paths of Puzzlewood.

Don’t even get me started on the food … foodie lovers out there YOU MUST DINE HERE! The dinner was absolute perfection! Standouts for me had to be the pigeon starter with lovage, blackberry, hazelnut, and celeriac, followed by the most tender Herefordshire beef paired with potato, carrot, and black garlic. Unbelievable! The full English breakfast in the morning was also sublime!

To top it all off, the grounds are immaculate. My favorite morning ritual was wandering through the wildflowers and making friends with the resident runner ducks! 🦆

💌🤎 THIS IS LACOCK 🤎💌

The moment I stepped into Lacock, it honestly felt like I’d just tumbled back a few centuries.

Wandering down those quiet, winding lanes, you’re surrounded by gorgeous half-timbered cottages, weathered stone walls, and ancient beams that look like they haven’t changed in hundreds of years.

Now, I completely get the urge to rush straight to Lacock Abbey. Waking through those famous cloister corridors and realising you’re standing right where they filmed Hogwarts in Harry Potter is an amazing feeling. But please, don’t just snap your photos at the abbey and head off!

Make sure to set aside time to just get lost in the village itself. There are no modern power lines or TV antennas anywhere to ruin the spell, just lovely historic pubs with cosy fires, friendly locals, and a slice of quintessential English magic around every corner.
