The CrossFit Open is on now
A worldwide online fitness competition where athletes of all levels take on the same workout each week for 3 weeks and submit their scores to a global leaderboard.
The Open is all about testing your fitness, tracking progress, and being part of an incredible community. For some, itâs the first step toward elite competition. For most of us, itâs about pushing limits, celebrating effort, and seeing how far weâve come.
Over the weekend athletes have been taking on 26.1, the first of the 3 open workouts.
It is a 12-minute, âfor timeâ workout built around wall balls and box work. The workout follows a pyramid format, starting with smaller sets, building up to a huge set of 66 wall balls, then working back down again.
Athletes move through:
20 wall balls â 18 box jump-overs
30 wall balls â 18 box jump-overs
40 wall balls â 18 med-ball box step-overs
66 wall balls â 18 med-ball box step-overs
âŠthen back down the ladder to finish with 20 wall balls.
An amazing effort from everyone taking part, and such a wonderful supportive atmosphere for everyone whether they are just starting out or a seasoned athlete. It was fun to photograph (once I could walk again!!)
