Some weddings are just a little bit extra special...

This was definitely one of them.

I've known the beautiful bride for years through church, and if you've ever met her, you'll know she's one of the kindest, most thoughtful and genuinely lovely people you could ever hope to meet. She's the sort of person who quietly puts others before herself, and that kindness shone through every single moment of their wedding day.

And then there's Ian.

From the moment you meet him, you're welcomed with such warmth. He's incredibly friendly, generous with his encouragement, and always so complimentary of the people around him. Throughout the day it was obvious just how deeply loved he is by his family and friends. I always think that's one of the greatest reflections of a person, not just how they are loved by others, but how they love others. Ian has that quality in abundance.

Watching the two of them together, you just know. They bring out the very best in each other. They share the same faith, the same values, and the way they look at one another says everything. They really do seem like a match made in heaven.

Their wedding was planned so beautifully. Every detail had been carefully considered, yet the whole day flowed so naturally that everyone could simply relax and enjoy every moment.

They were married in the beautiful church where the bride grew up, where her parents were married, and where her own faith journey began. It couldn't have been a more meaningful place to begin married life together.

They wanted their wedding to be about committing their marriage and our future to Jesus. And that was exactly what the day felt like.

It was full of joy, laughter, beautiful worship, so much love, and a wonderful community of family and friends surrounding them. It was a day that reflected exactly who they are as a couple.

It was such a privilege to capture this day. There were so many beautiful details, but what I'll remember most is the overwhelming sense of love, joy and faith that surrounded them from beginning to end.

Congratulations, you two. ❤️ Thank you for trusting me with one of the biggest days of your lives. It was such an honour to stand alongside you, not just as your photographer, but as a friend.

I can't wait to share more from this incredibly special day over the coming weeks.

I have so many beautiful weddings I've never shared...

Not because I didn't love them (quite the opposite!), but because life has looked a little different over the last two years.

With a toddler, a 6-year-old, a teenager, family life and a business, those quiet hours at my computer have become incredibly precious. And when I do get to sit down, I'm almost always editing. Right now, my couples will always come before my social media.

I've also made a conscious decision to photograph fewer weddings each year.

Not because I love weddings any less, but because I want to give every couple the time and attention they deserve. I never want editing to become a production line. I want the space to carefully curate every gallery, choosing the photographs that best reflect each couple's personalities, the atmosphere of their day, and all those little moments that often become the most treasured memories.

Recently, I've come across a few posts from couples saying they were worried because their photographer hadn't shared anything on social media for a while. Some wondered whether their own wedding wasn't "pretty enough" to be featured, while others even started to worry that their photographer had disappeared off the face of the earth and might not even turn up on the day!

If that's ever crossed your mind, please don't worry. The reality is usually much less dramatic.

Every photographer works differently. Some are incredibly busy editing galleries, some are photographing weddings almost every weekend, and others intentionally save content to share during the quieter months. So the wedding you see on Instagram today might not have taken place last weekend, it could have been months ago.

And, of course, many of our couples choose not to have their images shared publicly. As photographers, we completely respect that. Their memories belong to them, and protecting their privacy, and that of their family and guests, will always come before creating content for social media.

So... I thought it was about time I started sharing a few more of the beautiful weddings that I *do* have permission to show. 🤍

First up is Sophie & Ben's gorgeous Plymouth (and Cornwall) wedding.

Their day began at the stunning Plymouth Council House, one of my favourite ceremony venues in the city. With its elegant mid-century architecture, beautiful natural light and timeless interiors, it's such an incredible setting to say "I do."

After the ceremony, we hopped aboard the Cremyll Ferry across to Cornwall before heading to the breathtaking Orangery at Mount Edgcumbe Surrounded by beautiful gardens, guests enjoyed the most exquisite afternoon tea in the sunshine, creating such a relaxed and elegant atmosphere for the rest of the celebration.

It was one of those wedding days that unfolded so naturally. An absolute joy to photograph.

I have a feeling there are quite a few more beautiful weddings waiting patiently on my hard drive that deserve their moment too... so keep an eye out over the coming weeks. 🤍

It’s been a little quiet here for a while, at least when it comes to sharing weddings, and not because there hasn’t been anything to show, quite the opposite.

I recently saw a post from a worried bride who hadn’t seen her photographer share anything for a month and thought they had disappeared… and it made me smile, but also made me think. I wondered if any of my own couples might be thinking the same, that I’d quietly vanished or gone into some kind of hibernation.

The truth is, I haven’t gone anywhere.

While my team have been capturing and creating behind the scenes, this past year has looked very different for me. It’s been a season of stepping back, reflecting, and learning to be present, not as a photographer, but as a mum, a daughter, a wife, and a friend.

2025 changed everything. I was heavily pregnant with my third baby, unexpected, but so deeply loved. Pregnancy for me is never easy, and this time was no different. Months of sickness, dizziness, bed rest, and a high-risk journey, all alongside a busy wedding season… it was a lot.

Then, just before my baby arrived, I suddenly lost my dad 💔

He’s the reason I became a photographer. He gave me my first camera, encouraged me, challenged me, and believed in me long before I believed in myself. Losing him made everything feel heavier, especially the thought of photographing those emotional moments at weddings.

So I stepped back.

For the first time in over 12 years, I allowed myself to pause. To be at home, to rest, and to be present with my baby.

Towards the end of the year, I slowly returned with a few weddings for close friends, and something shifted. I didn’t fall apart. Instead, I felt present and grateful.

I realised my life as a photographer hasn’t ended, it’s just changed.

More intentional.

More aligned.

So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, this is it. And if you’re still here, thank you 🤍

There’s so much I’m looking forward to sharing… just slowly
