Happy Holidays to those celebrating over this festive season!

I've recently done some work with Plymouth Citybus to photograph their Santa bus whilst out during the lead up to Christmas. Below are some of my favourite photos from that shoot, taken at Whitleigh, Southway & Milehouse.

We will NOT be silenced!!

Earlier this month Kill the Bill, and many other movements, took to the streets of towns and cities across the UK to protest the draconian PCSC bill. Which was making it's way through the House of Lords on the same day.

While we made enough noise for the Lords to throw out majority of the drastic amendments made to the bill, it still remains a repressive piece of legislation. This bill, along with the Nationalities & Boarders Bill, still poses a risk to the rights of many and as such we need to continue to make noise until they are no longer a risk.

Extinction Rebellion Disrupts Lord Mayors March

On the 13th November 2021 various rebels from Extinction Rebellion took to the street to disrupt the Lord Mayors March. This involved several actions including lock-ons and a march. The primary messaging was around the failure of COP-26.

These photos are from the march that took place that ended up delaying the second portion of the lord mayors parade from moving on. I personally found this action a little bit disappointing with very little impact with other actions taking place being quelled before they were able to make an impact.

Finally got an opportunity to start working on my huge backlog of photography.

These photos are from a shoot I did along Exeter High Street back in May. I tried my hand with some various black and white editing, whilst not my favourite style it definitely adds character!

XR takes Amazon

On the morning of Black Friday, Extinction Rebellion blocked 13 Amazon distribution centres across the UK, with more actions taking place worldwide. This was an act to confront Amazon on it's awful working practices. These acts include the exploitation of its workers, the pushing of consumption on a level this planet cannot sustain and it's avoidence of paying tax.

It was great to see the large giant held to account, not only in the UK but worldwide, for its horrid practices.

Photo - XR Rebel, sat on a tripod structure in front of a Large Amazon logo, shows a raised first.

Come to the Table

The first action of the Impossible Rebellion involved occupying a junction, near Leicester Square Station, with a giant pink table. This action was the first full day of action during the rebellion and was focused around crisis talks. These talks engaged the public to discuss the climate emergency and where humanity must go next.

Whilst a section 14 cleared most of the assembly by 21:00 on the same day the junction remained blocked well into the following day as the police dismantled the table.

Opening Ceremony (Part 2/2)

On the 22nd August 2021 Extinction Rebellion started 2 weeks of protests off with an opening ceremony at the Guildhall in the City of London, where they demand the City, and the UK as a whole, immediately stop all fossil fuel funding.

Three rebels from the group scaled the walls of the Guildhall dropping a banner that read "Co-Liberation /Freedom Together". Below this action other rebels gathered together with speeches to highlight the failings of the City of London, both currently and in history.

This was only a sample of what was to come in the oncoming days and weeks and would show the commitment the group has towards getting the government to act on the climate emergency.

Occupying McDonalds, Part 2

On Tuesday 24th August 50 rebels took to Leicester Square McDonalds for a Sleepover to 6am.

Animal Rebellion, the organisation behind the sleep in, is demand McDonalds to move towards a plant based menu by 2025. McDonalds is one of the biggest buyers of meat in the world and have the power to do good for the enivronment however they continue to run with practices that destroy the planet.

Sadly the rebels didn't make it past midnight with 36 arrests happening in the end, with rebels who had been told they'd recieve a warning to leave, also being arrested.
