Evening all!
I went out last night, to see what I could capture. It didn't really go to plan, I'd set my lens focal length longer than I'd planned, which is a shame, as the sky was incredible, with snazzy oranges and reds in streaks. Once the camera is in the water housing however there's no changing the lens! I did capture a piece of the sky though, and decided to go for some abstract shots. These were the only 2 shots from 90 mins of shooting that I thought were worth a post. I guess they're quite cool and unusual. Just to show that its not always easy sailing, and takes a lot of time and effort this photography! It was nice to get out though.

Hi all,
Anyone see the ominous clouds around 4-5pm today? Cumulous nimbus perhaps? I was at Rinsey at the time, and took a quick snapshot. Lost my photography mojo at the moment. This happens occasionally... Sure it'll be back soon.

Happy World Photography Day. I took a few today (at Helston boating lake). Imagine no photographs and videos. We would just rely purely on memory and maybe a diary. If you don't have a photo of it , did it really happen😆. There would be a lot more exaggerating and story telling that's for sure! Which actually would be cool too. Anyway, glad we have photography!!

Evening everyone. I like to do a review of the last few weeks every now and again, I had a great few weeks so it was hard to choose my own favourites. These are the ones I went with... A couple I have rented for the gallery. I hope you like them! I've been away for a week, but I will jump back on the hamster Facebook algorithm wheel soon, for more disappoint 🤣. Thanks everyone for your ongoing interest and support, and I hope everyone has my new calendar delivered so far... And I hope you like it! If you'd like one, give me a shout.

Seaweed Creativity. I like the seaweed around St.Michael's mount. Here shown, the mount itself levitating above a particularly nice decorative piece wouldn't you agree?
The gallery is open again tomorrow from 11-3.30 🙂. I'm away but mum is in there holding the fort! Pop by and say hi if you're around Praa Sands! Cheers all.

Evening all. Hope everyone managed to see the eclipse without damaging your eyes! I was in Germany last night, at some random old town. I had one lens with me, really completely unprepared, but I stooped down to f32 1/8000 sec and hoped I could catch something (taking care not to point directly at the sun for more than 1/4 second. Pretty much just panned the camera past , without allowing any 'solar burn' on the old camera sensor. Think I got away with it. Yes, I could have done with a solar filter, yes I could have done with my 500mm lens. But I just enjoyed the moment, with the odd shot fired off as creative as my equipment and preparation allowed... I've seen some mind blowing shots from around the world that must have been weeks of preparation with the best equipment for the job, glad we had clear skies!!

Evening all!
Look closely... 100's of little fish. I'm not completely sure on an ID on these ones, let me know if you know. But I was amongst many shoals of the them at Porthleven 2 evenings ago. I had quite a few people very interested in what I was doing bobbing around with the camera water housing equipment, asking 'what are you doing'? mainly, but I also had someone shout 'are you ok'? 😆.
I think I am. Anyway I hope you like the shot, sneaking up on these fish, and getting the settings right isn't as easy as you'd think!

Hi all, I took a trip out to St Michael's Mount yesterday evening, and this is what I found… lobster/crab pots with the poor guys inside, quite a few sailing boats docking for the night on the calm water, and the castle lighting up in purple just before I left for one last shot ( can’t find out the reason?)… but it looked spectacular against the fading orange and deep blue sky. Hope you like them!
