I wasn’t happy with the image I made of this lovely young lady at my pop-up, so I invited her to the studio. It was only fair, and the least I could do. I was shooting large format black-and-white and colour before I disappeared down the rabbit hole of wet plate collodion. In the course of a great shoot with the lovely .bones last week I grabbed a couple of 5x4 holders loaded with expired Fuji Velvia 50. These, with some colour cast correction, are the results. I may just shoot a bit more of this before my stash deteriorates further …

A truly lovely shoot yesterday morning. I had the repeated pleasure of a collaboration with who, as always, was stunningly dressed and equipped! This is one of several 5x4 tintypes we made. Watch out for the (🤞🏻) 5x4 expired Fuji Velvia I hope to develop later this week.

All I’m going to say is that this lovely young lady, Tilly, made my day! She was my first sitter on the last day of my pop-up portrait studio at . Actors have an old saying that they should never work with children or animals. Tilly took to it like a duck to water, I’d work with her any day of the week! Thank you.

A bunch of lovely people turned up for my penultimate pop-up studio day at . It’s one of the great pleasures of this process: it seems to draw interesting, intelligent and artistic people. These are 5x4 tintypes of just three of them, Nancy, Eva and Liza. My thanks to them and everyone else for joining me in my endeavours, it makes me very happy!
