Not one of these weddings screams normal, and honestly that’s exactly why I love them 🖤

These are just some of the amazing weddings I’ve had the absolute pleasure of being part of. Green dresses, yellow dresses, a rainbow flag waved from the top of a ladder, and a whole lot of people who just wanted to have a bloody good day with the people they love.

No two have been the same and I wouldn’t want them to be. I’m not there to make your day look like everyone else’s. I’m there to catch it exactly how it happened, chaos and all.

Thank you to every single couple in this. You trusted me with your day and I don’t take that lightly.

Now booking 2027 and 2028! If your wedding doesn’t scream normal either, I’d love to hear about it.

This is honestly one of my favourite photos of the season.

Details matter. Lucy looked so elegant all day, but this is the one hell of a s**t from the day. The flowers in her tattoos and the flowers in the lace just sit together like they were made for each other, and I’m not sure anyone noticed it but hey! That’s ADHD hyper focus for you!

That’s the bit I really love about not posing people. I’m not stood there going “chin up, hand on hip”.

I’m just watching, and every now and then something like this lines itself up and I get to catch it.

Throw back to the amazing festival wedding I had the privilege of attending.

Awesome humans Emily and Stephen were engaged at Glastonbury and visited many times so it felt right to recreate this surrounded by friends and family - all this with a touch of Norfolk countryside thrown in.

It was an incredible day.

Thought I’d do a quick hello to all my new followers! 👋

I’m Aaron, the bloke behind Magpie Magpie, and I photograph weddings and families across Norfolk and Suffolk with my wife Ali.

I was handed a camera when I was a little kid and honestly I’ve never really put it down since. Then life got in the way for a fair few years… lockdown came along, I picked it back up and realised how much I’d missed it. Magpie Magpie started in 2024 and every single wedding since has been me getting a little bit closer to doing this full time. My first ever couple, Holly and Tom, took a massive leap of faith on me when I was just starting out and I’ll never forget that.

I’m neurospicy (ADHD) and for a long time I thought that was the thing holding me back. Turns out on a wedding day it’s basically my superpower! I tend to clock the stuff happening three people back, I don’t flag at hour nine, and I’m still bouncing about when the room’s turned into a party.

I also hate lining people up and shouting “lovely, and again!” Especially the staged Kissing! I mean that’s as awkward for you as it is for me no doubt!

Ali not only shoots with me whenever she can and she’s honestly my secret weapon. She’ll have your dress sorted before you’ve even noticed it needed sorting. We only got married ourselves in 2025, so we know exactly how the nerves feel from the other side!

5 things you probably don’t know about me…

1. I’m part of a paranormal investigation team. Nothing’s grabbed me yet 👻
2. I took up the drums because my son Kaileb looked way too cool on stage with his guitar. Rockstar drummer in my own head
3. I once genuinely thought an olive was a pickled grape. I was a grown man
4. A couple’s taxi never turned up at Norwich Castle so we drove them there ourselves.
5. If there’s a dog at your wedding, we’re photographing the dog. Not up for discussion

Weddings should be anything but normal, what do I mean when I say that…

Well, it’s your day, you and unique and what’s normal nowadays anyway.

Take Cheska and Moley… this photo is an encapsulation of uniqueness from the dress to the venue to the weather!

I really did try my best to capture the essence of their day and so happy with the results! What made it even better was the fact these two are just the most amazing humans I’ve ever met!

Things I’ve been at weddings this year

Being a wedding photographer isn’t just about taking photos on the day. It’s often so much more than that.

Ch*****ne bodyguard. Human stopwatch. Buttonhole wrangler. Dress fluffer. Escape route planner. Group shot sheepdog. Dancefloor hype man.

And I actually love all the extras. I occasionally daydream about being a wedding planner. Reckon I’d be pretty good at it.

Bit of a different one from me,

Our belated honeymoon esq type holiday! And as always I can’t seem to put the camera down and take a bloody break after a very busy summer capturing lots of lovely love stories.. which leads me here…

If you looking for a perfect honeymoon retreat then take a look Unda - it’s a beautiful, boutique hotel nestled into the lovely resort of Roda on the amazing Island of Corfu.

By the sea, there’s 3 restaurants, swim up rooms and even a pool side bar built into the pool - honestly hands down the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at.

The cafe is pretty friendly also!
