Starlings at Sunset. A remarkable sight.

Starling murmuration in the late winter sun.

This was part of an amazing Starling murmuration only about 3 miles from my house. The late warm sun all of a sudden lit up part of the display and against the overcast sky it looked like a fireball moving through the sky. It was such a joy to witness. And it was great to see so many families and kids out watching it too.

Tonight's stunning Starling murmuration.

Spent an over half an hour being mesmerized.

What an honour to witness this right on my doorstep.

I don't want to jump the gun here but it's starting to really feel like spring has sprung! The crocus are out in force and this is an amazing display at Backhouse Park in Sunderland. Absolutely stunning and well worth a visit; better be quick though...

The stunning Parque Rural de Anaga in the north east corner of Tenerife. I'm still amazed at the fabulous and contrasting landscapes that the island has to offer; really some enviornments that I've not been able to enjoy before.

Hiring a car was the best decision I made, such an amazing island to explore.

Visiting Tenerife's Monkey Park turned out to be one of the most fun times of my recent trip to the island. I'm not mad keen on the idea of zoos at all but I understand that this park is heavily conservation and eductaion focussed. I hope that's true.
