I "shoot" and "capture" beautiful creatures - with my cameras. Based in South Wales and widely covering UK, occasionally outside UK too. I am Karen and I specialise in equine, pet, wildlife, landscape & nature photography, but I enjoy photographing anything that captures my eye and imagination along the way! When photographing animals, nature & wildlife, none are ever harmed, interfered with, upset, damaged or annoyed in order to get a photo - if I miss then I wait to get another chance some day. You will find many images on this page, even some scanned photo's from my early days! The majority of images on this page are my work, but I coach a few young novice photographers so you will find some of their work as trainees here too. I also do portrait and family photography but I now do them as outdoor shoots. As you can see from my new reels, I went for quick visits to my lifelong havens yesterday, to check up on how the rut is coming along. I made several short videos to publish as reels because people have asked me to appear/speak on some, plus I had expert advice that reels help with facebook algorithm, especially those that show the page owner speaking or working and back of camera action, so let's see!

I did actually take some photo's but as yet haven't had time to go through them and get them uploaded, please bear with me and I will try to get them done over the weekend x

In my lifelong haven there are many Jackdaws, at least three of which have white markings instead of being completely black. I photographed a different one of them yesterday but managed to get a short video of this fella, enjoy!..............

Just a very short video to show part of a garden area in my second lifelong haven. There are a few fenced-off gardens in both my locations but they are not known for wildlife, although the occasional Butterfly, Bird, Squirrel or Rabbit can be seen. ..............

I was driving up the access lane from the tiny disabled car park in my lifelong haven (where there are toilets lol) to go on to the main car park. As I got almost to the top there was a small herd of Red Deer situated on both sides of the lane, with two stags that I could tell were about to cross in front of me, so I stopped my car to let them. I put my hazard warning on briefly to let a cyclist who was coming up from behind know to be careful, so he stopped too ... I got out of my car and took three very short clips, and have put them together as one reel, enjoy!..............

Another lifelong haven and photography location of mine, not far from the town I grew up in ... let me take you for a little walk to see a tiny piece of it ...

However I need to point out that I have tried to piece together a series of short clips as seamlessly as possible. I do have mobility issues so when walking is concerned I need to keep stopping to rest. If I keep the camera rolling it would make the videos far too long!

So my outdoor videos may contain several shorter ones put together. Please bear with me as the concept of doing "reels" and showing myself on them is new to me, and it's out of my comfort zone!

Introducing my second home, my favourite wildlife location near where I was born and grew up. A few people have asked me to show locations on video and myself talking about the places, although why people want to see/hear me I have no idea. It's not something I am very comfortable or confident doing but I will try! (Plus I have been advised by an internet expert that reels showing your work or locations, and appearing in them actually help with facebook's terrible algorithms!)

I struggle with the phone camera bit as I am still awaiting cataract surgery and can't see the small buttons/icons lol, plus on this occasion on a beautiful day, the sun was in my eyes and I couldn't see properly even if I had perfect eyesight lol.

I took a flying visit to my lifelong haven to see how the Deer Rut is coming along. Not quite there yet but stags are practising for the clash of the titans, which should be soon. I came across this gorgeous boy enjoying a pamper session with two Jackdaws!

I included a short video of this stag after the Jackdaws flew away ... to prove he is real lol! They almost go into a trance whilst the birds are on them so can appear not even real, possibly so they don't scare the birds by moving, or because they get so relaxed! I managed to get a short clip of him bellowing then standing up afterwards, he is very real!

Apologies for the poor quality, I was keeping my respectful distance and had to zoom in on the phone...............

A few years ago my son and I visited a place we know just outside London to take photo's as the night came in.

Whilst there this cloud that was almost right above our heads began to shoot out bursts of lightning, there was no thunder or rain to accompany it. I took several short video's but having recently learned how to make reels, I decided to put my video's together to make one longer one.

It shows better on the video's than photo's, it was extremely atmosperic and exciting to watch, the cloud seemed to hang around in the one spot for ages, it didn't seem to move or change shape, only throw out lightning flashes!

What do you think of it, have you ever seen this yourself?..............
