Great early morning walk onto Haystacks today and imho the best view in the Lake District... Surprisingly quiet on the mountain too, saw just 3 people until we started heading back down Warnscale beck

Just arrived in the Lake District for a few days of hiking in the Buttermere area and a blustery day today changed the lake to a coastal views with waves crashing on the shoreline of Buttermere.... Shot on my phone as I left the camera in the cottage today

For the last 3 years I've spent an autumn week in the Scottish Highlands visiting the Isle of Skye, Glencoe, Assynt and Torridon and as you can see the weather added some wonderful drama to the amazing scenery.

It's a fantastic area for landscape photography and I've had a great time there but this year I'm dedicating my autumn photography trip to much closer to home, hoping to add more autumnal images to my already pretty expansive collection of Eryri Snowdonia photos.
