A fabulous feature from on the interesting history associated with our river and waterways of Bath playing such a fundamental role in how our city evolved in Bath Life 🏛️💙✨

I’m always super delighted when my images make it into print, but I’m extra-specially-so about being featured alongside the incredibly talented Rowena Ko

Rowena’s work is fabulous. Ro had a massive insta account but further to a breach had to start from scratch again, so please give her account the love it deserves.

Happy new issue Friday!

On these summer days, is there anything better?

Goodness there is a lot of beauty on display at event 🌿🌳🪴🌷✨

I think my favourite gardens were the Nascent shade, Julia Rausing Garden and the Archers garden. For those that get to visit more than once, I am quite envious. I previously focused on more on the visitors and human element of the show, where this post captures the gardens and some of my favourite sculptures. I’ve run out of frames in the carousel that I can add 😅

There is one frame that I don’t know who to credit. A really captivating sculpture of horse and child. And as you no doubt know, I never knowingly let an equine sculpture pas me by without capturing it. I almost always love them all.

If you are visiting this weekend, enjoy! It’s truly wonderful 😎☀️🌳🌿🪴🌷✨

I sincerely hope that this will become an annual fixture in the local calendar.

Ps. Don’t forget, get all your difficult gardening questions ready as there are plenty of volunteers on hand there to help you 😊🙌🌿

Just a quick moment for last night’s epic sun down from Bathwick hill. I’ll have to pop back with my ‘proper’ camera at some point, so magical!

Glorious Badminton 🏛️🌳🌿 Badminton hosts select garden open days throughout the year and there really is something to see each time you visit. Spring included carpets of tulips, but this time around in June the garden had fully sprung into life and everything was out and blooming.

But that’s not it, there’s now an entirely new opportunity to visit! 🌸🪴 If you missed Chelsea, have you heard about the garden event taking place at next week? I’m looking forward to being there on Wednesday, I hope to see you there!

Farmyard at The Newt, complete with chickens with their bloomers on 😊🐔

A few views from the Farmyard. A truly delicious lunch was had, and as if to prove I was confident it would be great, I went veggie for my main, which is something I realise I only tend to do in the best of places.

The chickens were very pretty indeed and provided lots of entertainment. They knew that there would be crumbs beneath the tables, so were constantly sneaking in, which in turn meant the staff were always having to chase them out (despite our protests 😋)

Check out the bucolic view in frame 6; overlooking hills complete with grazing cows in the summer sun. Everything you come to the Newt for.

A jaunt to town for the WOW!House exhibition is joyful in of itself. Not least going with and bumping into fellow Bathonian and PR extraordinaire

The rooms are all incredible. Some more to my taste than others, as would be expected. and were my clear favourites.

If any of these pictures spur ideas or dream wish list of purchases, absolutely every item is listed under credits on each rooms page - definitely worth a browse! It was fab seeing what can be created when designers are allowed to fully unleash their creativity.

I fell hopelessly in love with the fabric wallcovering and the bespoke ottoman in the room. All the fabrics in there were sublime and if I could have picked the room up and plonked it in my house I’d be a seriously happy person.

Whilst in town one must dash to Pimlico Road. My interiors cup is now full to brim with gorgeousness, but more on that to follow in a future post.

Tulips at Dyrham 🌷🌿✨

Dyrham Park is looking particularly resplendent at the moment, with both its formal and informal gardens coming alive in a sea of spring tulips. My friend asked me which I preferred, the formal parterre setting or the wildflower meadow style setting - and honestly I couldn’t decide, I loved them both for different reasons!

Set against the golden stone of the house and rolling Gloucestershire countryside, it’s a proper seasonal showstopper and such a short distance from Bath 🌷🏛️🌿

Who’s already excited for wisteria season…? 💜

Sydney’s 🧡🤩🙌✨ I’m still dreaming about the crab 🦀

A very lovely evening spent in the company of the gorgeous and at Sydney’s in Bath.

I have to say that I absolutely adore the indoor/outdoor vibe on the roof terrace. I’ve always enjoyed that cosy feeling you get when you feel like you are somehow cheating the elements, but as these evenings get lighter, it’s only going to get more enjoyable ✨✨ especially while we are in the kind of season where you don’t know what’s coming next 😅☔️⚡️🌬️☀️😎

Apart from the impeccable service from our very lovely host, Deity (give that woman a prize!), the standout for me was the whole baked Devon crab thermidor with parmesan crumb — rich, indulgent, and perfect paired with a chilled crisp white.

A beautiful setting, a relaxed atmosphere, and genuinely excellent food.

On this occasion, Gifted. But often choosing to spend my money here.
