Such an incredible proposal down at Holywell Bay last night with the perfect sunset!

So much planning and organisation went in to making sure this proposal was on point; from the late and last minute texts, prior visits to send a map so they don’t get lost and then planning it around the weather and golden hour, it all came out better than even I imagined, and they are over the moon too.

Yesterday I spent a good hour hiding from the wind with these two, after their visit to the ahead of their wedding later this year. With the south easterly winds, we dipped over the headland to find some shelter overlooking Newquay Bay, and then to finish off the shoot we headed back to Little Fistral for some beach snaps to make the most of the sunshine! Like most couples, photography isn’t something they’re used too, so it was super important for them to get some practice in before the big day, and they smashed it!

Ever since I started shooting weddings, I’ve always photographed with the intention of the images staying timeless in 5/10/20 years time, I want them to be seen as classy, elegant and natural. I put the focus on the dress, the venue, the surroundings and the people. What’s important for you? Timeless, trendy or a mixture of both? And feel free to drop a reason why in the comments?

Making the most of a day off editing and watching the surf down Fistral for an hour before this weekends wedding back in Somerset. It was also the first time shooting in smaller waves instead of Bombs, so it was nice to see some variety in moves.

Holywell Bay Engagement Shoot with Laura & Tom.

I met up with Laura and Tom just after torrential rain cleared, and I mean TORRENTIAL to the point I nearly called it off only to find sun breaking through as we walked over the dunes.

We wandered to dunes on the north side of the bay and worked our way back to the shore and kept everything natural and unposed — even getting their toes in the incoming tide as the water crept up the sand.
