It’s great that attention spans are so short now. Nobody’s going to notice anyway.

Why invest in a moving image made frame by frame by human hands, maybe something with fresh florals and mixed media and the kind of layered detail that rewards a second watch, when your audience is already scrolling?

Generate it. Post it. Repeat. Again and again and again.

The people who would have stopped, and looked, and felt something, those people are a niche. A vanishing market. Probably difficult clients with difficult human feelings anyway!

You don’t need them.

You need impressions. You need output. You need forty-seven content pillars and a consistent posting schedule and absolutely nothing that makes someone put their phone down and say wait, how did they do that.

That question is a red flag.

It means someone cared too much.

They have days where nothing feels right. Where they almost didn’t buy, almost didn’t trust, almost scrolled past. And then something stopped them. Not because it was optimised. Because it felt like it was made for them.

That feeling doesn’t come from a prompt. It comes from a person who’s also had those days.

There’s this trap so many brands fall into in this age of content overwhelm: aiming for visuals that look ‘good’. Not bad. Not embarrassing. Not risky. Just… good. The problem is, ‘good’ has become the most crowded place on the internet. We’re all surrounded by competent imagery. The lighting looks ok. The composition works. Everything is polished into something acceptable. And because of that, most of it slides straight past us without leaving a mark…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Imo what actually holds attention is something else all together. It’s the sense that a decision has been made. That someone chose this colour instead of that one. That the styling wasn’t just assembled, it was considered. That there’s a point of view running through the work, even if you can’t quite name it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s where taste lives.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not in surface level perfection, but in judgement. In restraint. In knowing when to push something further and when to leave it alone. In caring enough about the small things that they start to add up to something recognisable. Because recognition is the real goal. Not just looking nice, but looking like you.

If your visuals feel interchangeable, your brand will too. And that’s a much more expensive problem than you realise...

Swipe to see the pairs: from concept to campaign. Each background colour was mapped before I even picked up the camera, so that by the time the products landed in frame, the palette already knew what it was doing.
