🎭 TheatreFest 2026 arrives on Tue 23 - Wed 24 Jun!

Students and teachers across Essex are teaming up to create 10-minute theatre performances inspired by Caroline – A New Musical, a show about Radio Caroline and the swinging sixties, to perform on our stage.

The lineup includes DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training and The Thomas Lord Audley School (Dance and Drama) on Tue 23 Jun and The Gilberd School, Paxman Academy and Gosfield School on Wed 24 Jun. Social Club and Manningtree High School will be performing on both days.

Do you want to help support the next generation of performers and theatre makers? 🫵

TheatreFest is a chance to do exactly that! Schools and colleges across Essex have been working with local creative Tom Hobden (who has worked with organisations such as Sadler's Wells and the Royal Academy of Dance) to create a 10-minute performance piece themed around Caroline – A New Musical, which celebrates the '60s – a decade that well and truly rocked.

We also have a performance from Manningtree High School with their commissioned short play linked to our sell-out run of The Manningtree Witches earlier this year. Written by local playwright Eilish Mullane and directed by Sian Burford Thomas (Wind in the Willows), this is one to watch. Come and be part of this hugely enjoyable event! 🤩
