We're almost ready for our family trip to Canada. 3.5 weeks of memories to make. Hopefully I've packed the right kit to capture them. I always make the mistake with my holidays of taking too many cameras. And I've limited myself to one film and one digital camera this time. The Olympus MJU is my wife's so that doesn't count.

I've gone with the Canon A1 for the film camera this time. I like these so much I have two of them. They give full creative control whilst providing program mode for wandering the streets and not thinking too much. Pairing it with a f1.4 50mm and a f2 35mm lenses. I wanted to take my new F1 but I'm still missing an eye up on it which I need to source. The film camera I'm going to miss on this trip is my Yashica Mat 124-G. I love shooting the TLR on trips.

Digital is the a6700 with 16mm & 30mm Sigma lenses. These will cover street and landscape for me. And also taking the very versatile Tamron 18-300 super telephoto for any wildlife opportunities. Really versatile lens which has been on some amazing trips already.

The lab is closed for October but you can still purchase film for regular delivery, my cousin is fulfilling your fix whilst I'm away. Back in November for the grand opening of the shop.

If you've been following along, you'll know that we've been moving into a new shop in the heart of Manningtree The Yard Manningtree. Our film processing work flows have been a bit disrupted during this time and I know a lot of you have been very patient and understanding whilst we get in full flow again. But today marks the first few rolls developed in our new space. We're not quite open as a shop to the public yet, but if you're close by and want to say hi please pop in, just excuse the mess!

Lucky C400. The 400 speed colour film a lot of you have been asking about since C200 turned up.

Lucky stopped making colour in 2012 and left it alone for thirteen years. C200 was them proving the factory still worked. C400 is where they went back and fixed what the first attempt got wrong: mixed and secondary colours hold together properly now, and you get an extra stop for the days the sun cannot be relied upon.

ISO 400, 36 exposures, DX coded, standard C-41.

£11.50 a roll. Pre orders open now, arriving end of August. We have thirty in the first allocation so be quick!
