PRAISE KILLS PROGRESSION.

Compliments feel good…
Criticism makes us better.

We all strive for progress…
Progress requires honesty.

Looking back to my early career, I believe constructive criticism would have helped me grow faster.

Praise tells us what’s working.
Criticism shows us what could work better.

This is particularly important in creative industries.
Because there’s always another perspective.

I actively seek criticism…
Not to knock me down.
TO MAKE ME BETTER.

We don’t have to agree with criticism.
Just be willing to consider it.

The danger of constant praise?
Complacency.

Sometimes…
“This could be perfect if ____“
Is far more valuable than…
“This is fantastic”

So we should surround ourselves with people who challenge us.
Not just those who applaud.

If we want to keep progressing…
We need honesty more than praise.
