🦋🌸 Fun Fact: The Incredible painted Lady Butterfly! 🌸🦋

Did you know the beautiful painted Lady butterfly is a much rarer sight than many of the butterflies we see in our gardens? 💕 Its delicate colouring makes spotting one a real treat!

But here’s the amazing part… 🌍🦋 they can travel incredible distances during migration! Painted Ladies migrate northwards from southern Europe and North Africa, following warmer weather and the plants they need along the way.

And here’s something that might surprise you: it isn’t usually the same individual butterfly that completes the entire journey! 😮🦋 The migration happens over several successive generations, with one generation travelling part of the way before reproducing. Their offspring then continue the journey, and the next generation carries it even further.

So that tiny butterfly fluttering past you could be part of an incredible journey that began hundreds or even thousands of miles away! 🌍✨

🌿 Did you know? That beautiful white flower floating above the pond is a water lily! 🤍🪷

Its round green lily pad floats on the water, creating a little haven for frogs, insects and other pond wildlife. 🐸✨
