Hate your smile? Let's fix that!

And it's much easier than you think.

When we pose for the camera, the tendancy is to offer a polite smile that looks under energised and put on.

Instead, have a giggle! Yes, that's right. Have a giggle to yourself, as big or as small as you like.

It shows youre breathing, stretches the lips and cheek muscles and livens the eyes to show something far more authentic. Give it a go and let me know how you get on!

When a stranger is pointing a camera at you asking to have a little giggle to yourself. At first, yes it does feel strange. But soon you start genuinely giggling and how silly the pretend giggle felt. And before you know it, we capturing genuine joy and laughter - the exact ingredients that create a wonderful first impression that is completely unique to you.

Quite often I find many people hate previous photos of themselves because they felt too serious, they were riddled with nerves, or they felt they were posing a smile for the camera.

I create an atmosphere where within minutes of getting started, you feel like you can try anything you like, you can make a bit of a fool of yourself, because it's a safe space and the focus is on making sure we capture that wonderful personality of yours!

Who knew there are so many actors in Lincolnshire. I certainly didn't think there were when I left London as an actor headshot photographer, and thought I was leaving that side of my work behind.

I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm regularly working with locally talent, providing new photos for their casting portfolio helping them get into the audition room - a task that I know personally well and how difficult it can be!

Time for the dreaded headshot update... a moment that comes to us all.

But it certainly doesn't have to feel this way.

It's one of those moments that once you see those updated images, you think WHY did I not do this sooner!

Photos that truly reflect who you are as a professional really boost self confidence, and relight a fire to share and promote yourself further... perhaps in areas you may have been hiding!

And it doesn't need to be typical white background for LinkedIn. For this photo, we made the most of the panelling to offer some interest in the aesthetic, and I chose a lighting style that looked editorial, offered shadows for a bit of contrast and drama, and ultimately looked like the client was featured in a top end magazine.

A lot of people put off getting a professional headshot because it feels self-indulgent.

What if the content isn't the problem?
