If you’re not a fan of needles… this might be your cue to scroll past now.

But if you are curious about what acupuncture actually looks like (and more importantly, who’s behind it)… keep reading.

This shoot with Nicole from Sol Acupuncture was all about trust. Because when something feels a little unfamiliar, seeing it properly, honestly, gently makes all the difference.

Nicole wanted her clients (and future clients) to feel at ease before they’d even walked through the door. To see the person behind the treatments, not just the needles. The calm. The care. The why.

And honestly? Watching her step in front of the camera, even whilst saying she wasn’t comfortable doing it, and absolutely owning it… that’s the magic right there.

“Building trust and connection with my clients is at the heart of what I do…” and you can feel that in every image.

This is what personal branding photos are really about. Not stiff headshots. Not pretending to be something you’re not. Just you, your work, and the way people experience it.

(And yes… I promise it’s far less scary than it looks.)

Kerry is a counsellor, coach & just a genuinely lovely human.

For her personal branding shoot she didn’t want to hide behind the usual “therapist” look. She knows people aren’t just choosing qualifications, they’re choosing the person. So the aim was simple: show who she actually is.

Books are a big part of her world, so we shot part one at (obvious choice). It suits her: calm, cosy, warm and grounding rather than clinical.

Then we did a second shoot in her therapy space so clients can see exactly where they’ll be coming. That bit matters too - familiarity makes things feel safer before you even walk through the door.

Also worth mentioning: she has the most soothing voice imaginable. Honestly, half the therapy probably starts the moment she says hello.

I. READ. A. BOOK. It might sound tiny, but it feels big to me.

And not only that - I read the whole thing in January (by the skin of my teeth).

I shared on Stories a while ago that I wanted to read more this year & asked for your recommendations - boy you guys did not disappoint!

The Thursday Murder Club series came up over and over again as a good place to start. And you were right, short chapters really are a god send when trying to build up a new reading habit.

What I’ve loved is that my girls have SEEN me reading again, for pleasure. Not just the back of snack packets.

If you’re doing something slowly this year what is it?? - I’m here cheering you on 🫶🏻

(Luna never comes for cuddles by she jumped up mid shoot and made my absolute day ❤️)

Some clients pick their final photos in a matter of MINUTES… looking at you 👀

Other clients take a little longer… ahem

I’m here for all of it. The quick deciders. The procrastinators.

Because let’s be honest… looking at photos of yourself (gah, the ultimate cringe) is HARD. Like, really hard.

So here’s a little guide to help you nail that final list without spiralling.

And before you ask… yes, I did get Luna to sit on a dining room chair, wearing glasses, “reviewing images” for this post. You can see in her eyes she was absolutely thrilled.

Some shoots feel calm.
This one felt like a reset.

Photographing .zesty - women’s business & life coach, professional cheerleader, and owner of truly goddess-level hair in this tucked-away little haven felt like stepping out of the noise for a moment.

We spent the day talking about peace over profit.
About building businesses that don’t demand you be constantly “on”.

About whether it’s socially acceptable to wear two pairs of boot socks at once. (It is.)

I’ve worked with Rosa before, creating seasonal content for her business, and something quietly magical always happens when we work together. Our minds seem to move in the same direction, at the same pace - one of those rare, special moments between client and photographer where everything just clicks. (Pun intended).

This shoot wasn’t about power poses or productivity hustle.

It was about softness, strength, warmth, and feeling deeply at home in your work & yourself. Which image are you drawn to?

Shot at the dreamiest shepherd’s hut hideaway, - the kind of place that makes you slow your breathing without even realising.

If you’re craving:
– more clarity
– more alignment
– more ease in the way you run your business

Let this be your gentle reminder: you don’t need to do more.

You might just need more space to hear yourself think.

Manifesting some of the shoots I’d love to work on this year ⚡️

Hands-on, heart-led, a little muddy, a little messy, very beautiful.

If you’re making things, growing things, or creating spaces people exhale in - I’d love to photograph your world.

Let’s make something lovely…

There’s something magic about photographing someone exactly where they belong.

Carly’s garden studio is a true creative sanctuary — doors open to birdsong, paint everywhere, layers of colour and texture telling quiet stories. We talked about her journey into painting, her intuitive process, and materials.

I loved seeing her in her natural habitat, moving between big, expressive marks and quieter details. A beautiful reminder that creativity doesn’t need a rigid plan… just space, curiosity and a bit of play.

2026: The Year of Living…

This year I’m not making business goals.
I’ve done that before and, quite frankly, had very little life.

So this year I’m choosing life over business.
Which, let’s be honest - is the whole reason most of us started this small biz thing in the first place.

⚡️Prioritising sleep
Because no amount of productivity hacks can save me if I’m running on crumbs and caffeine. Rest is the foundation, not the reward.

⚡️Putting my face in the sun
Morning light, slow walks, standing outside like a houseplant that’s been neglected. Vitamin D over doom scrolling.

⚡️Reading more
Actual books. Paper pages. Losing track of time instead of losing hours to my phone and calling it “research”. Thank you so much for all your book recommendations- I can’t wait to get started, will this be the year I return to reading?!

⚡️More creative play dates
Making things for the joy of it. No output required. No monetising. Just curiosity, mess, and seeing where it goes.

⚡️A return to the analogue
Film cameras. Writing things down. Snail Mail. Trusting my hands and my instincts again instead of an algorithm.

Choosing life this year. Everything else can wait.

Photos matter.

We scroll past them, snap them without thinking, tuck them into albums… and yet, each one holds more than a smile, a pose, a moment.

A photo is a pause. A heartbeat. A memory frozen while life keeps moving.

You only feel its weight when they’re gone.

So today, look at your photos. Hold them. Remember. Laugh. Hug. Tell the people you love that you do.

Because these are the moments that last long after the rest fades.

If you’re EVER worried about looking or feeling silly on a shoot…. Don’t be.

I can GUARANTEE I’ll be looking 100 times sillier than you whilst getting ‘the shot’.

Have you got any ridiculous images of me from a shoot? Send ‘em over.

Big thanks to Eleanor from for capturing ‘the real me’
