WoW! Less than 24 hours since tickets were released for my kids ‘Pet Portrait’ workshop at Oh Happy Creative and 50% of them have already gone!!

So best be quick if you want to join me on Friday 29th May 2-3.30pm to create your collaged picture of your pet…

Proud Parents Alert! Iris was awarded the Senior Subject Trophy for English Lit/Lang AND The Jack Elliott Memorial Prize for Contribution to the Arts this morning!

Sadly only 18 school days left at WHSG before she’s off to Emil Dale University to do her Foundation Year in Musical Theatre Studies - where does the time go??

Happy New Year! And as the kids go back to school this week, so a new term of Kids A-Z Art After School Club begins . This is what you’ve missed so far; and as you can see, we’ve been busy.

Last term we looked at artists from Giuseppe Arcimboldo through to The Impressionists, creating fantastic artworks in collage, watercolour and acrylics to 3D sculptures in tin foil and paper pop ups!

Kids get to take home their masterpieces each week, as well as an informative handout, which at the end of the year all adds up to become a mini encyclopaedia of artistic knowledge!

Although Thursdays are now SOLD OUT, there are a few spaces left on Wednesdays 5.15-6.15pm. And if you join this term, you will still be able to gain a nationally recognised entry level DISCOVER Arts Award from Trinity College London.

What’s not to like?! 😎

Well f**k me… that was one of the closest things to a religious experience, if I was religious! Although as we all know, ‘God loves his Children.’

This morning I have no voice and my joints ache. But I have a very full heart and goosebumps every time I think about last night.

There is something truly grounding about 20,000 people in a stadium so quiet you could hear a ‘squealing Gucci little piggy’, listening to 5 middle aged men play No Surprises, and Fake Plastic Trees (2 of my all time favs) to then absolutely having it to 2+2=5 and Jigsaw Falling into Place (another 2 of my favs!)

Radiohead are the band Brad & I have seen the most - indeed this was our 9th time and each time it is different, but truly memorable - (Brad got down on one knee at V Festival in 2006 to No Surprises!) And last night was no different (NO he didn’t propose again 🤣)

And 30 odd years into their career, they have a whole new generation of fans! I was old enough to be the majority of the crowd’s Mum, but who cares? Their music continues to resonate and speak to people and as long as they continue to make music, I for one will endeavour to continue to see them play it.

And with no new album to promote, this short tour seems like a massive thank you to the fans for all the support over the years.

But really we should be saying THANK YOU. Until next time…. 🤞🏼

Very proud to have had not 1, but 2 pieces of work from my new ‘Neon’ collection, selected from over 600 entries, in this year’s Essex Open , which had its Private View tonight.

And I’m in esteemed company showing alongside many artists I know and admire from the as well as fellow gallery buddy .painter

The show has something for everyone’s taste and pockets and runs until 15th February…

More original framed work and prints from my Neon series are also available from open every Saturday

Back to school this week and also the start of another brilliant term of Kids A-Z Art Club Oh Happy Creative. And it was a busy one with lots of lovely new faces ready to create, learn and most of all - have fun!

So, this week for the letter F we looked at the art technique known as Foreshortening, used to create the illusion of depth and dimension by shortening an object or figure as it recedes into the distance.

Tricky to get the perspective right, but the kids rose to the challenge and made some brilliant work, worthy of showing off on the gram!
