After spending 15 years as a Crime Scene Investigator, Dan Hedderick decided to pivot his career and channel his sharp eye for detail into a brand-new venture. Officially launched in July 2025, his mobile studio helps regional enterprises elevate their online presence through bespoke personal branding, team headshots, and corporate event photography across Wakefield and Yorkshire.

Transitioning from policing to entrepreneurship might seem like a leap, but Dan discovered that his previous career taught him the most essential skill in commercial photography: how to put people completely at ease. Rather than relying on rigid, unnatural poses or stiff stock imagery, he creates a relaxed environment to capture genuine visual assets that build instant trust with potential clients.

“My primary mission is to help companies shed the generic internet imagery and showcase who they truly are,” Dan explains. “Many small business owners are incredibly talented but don't show that excellence online. High-quality photography transforms that digital presence entirely.”

This shoot was a LOT of fun 😂

When Carole came along for her branding shoot, she brought her daughter Abbi-Kaye along for a bit of moral support.

Turns out, bringing your own wedding singer to a photoshoot has its advantages… 😂🎤

Abbi-Kaye is seriously talented, and between shots with Carole I couldn’t resist grabbing a few photos of her doing her thing.

A little bit of singing, a lot of laughing and plenty of energy made this one of those shoots that didn’t really feel like work.

And that’s exactly how I like branding shoots to feel.

Great people + good energy + photos that actually feel like you.

If you only had one image to represent you, which do you choose?

Most people think a headshot session is about one good photo ..I don’t see it that way.

To me,

Slide 1 says ‘confident’

Linkedin ✅
Email signature ✅

Slide 2 is defo ‘approachable’

Instagram ✅
Facebook biz page ✅
‘Meet the team’ web page ✅

Slide 3 ..this is 100% ‘authentic’

Behind-the-scenes ✅
Story highlights ✅
Personal branding ✅

None of them are better, they just do slightly different things.

One shoot, three different stories.
