Casting directors scroll fast. A good actor headshot does three things in under a second: it looks like you on your best day, it shows what you can play, and it's cropped so your eyes do the talking.

How we shoot them at Dock Street:
• A quick chat about the roles you're going for before we touch a camera
• 2–3 looks and backdrops in a 45–60 minute session
• Tethered, so you see every frame on screen and we adjust together
• Retouched, with Spotlight and casting-site crops supplied

Quick-Fire Spotlight Headshot (45 min) is £150 all-in. In-Depth (60 min, 10 retouched images) is £200. £50 deposit comes off the price, no VAT.

Live music, arena shows and awards nights: the other kind of event photography 🎤

Conference rooms are only half the job. The rest of the time it's a festival stage at dusk, an arena floor with the lights changing every eight bars, or an awards dinner where the best picture is the table laughing, not the trophy.

Leeds Digital Festival 2026, in seven frames 📷

We covered a run of festival events this autumn, from the CGI launch night and the UST student hackathon to panels with Skipton Group, Pexa, SCC, HSBC Innovation Banking and the Stripe community. Different rooms, different crowds, one brief: give the hosts images they can post the next morning and keep using all year.

Hiring a photography studio in Leeds? Here's what to check before you book 🔍

We hire Dock Street out to photographers, brands and creators most weeks, and the same questions come up every time. So, the honest checklist:

1️⃣ Is the lighting included, or is it an upsell? Here it's in the price: Elinchrom and Godox heads, 15+ modifiers, a 2.7 m Colorama and a green screen.
2️⃣ How big is it really? 450 sq ft with 10 ft ceilings and full blackout. Enough for full-length, groups and a car-free lighting set-up.
3️⃣ Can you get in with kit? Loading straight off the street, secure parking, five minutes from Leeds station.
4️⃣ What if it's your first time in a studio? Book the supported half day and our team sets up and stays on hand.
5️⃣ Is there somewhere to sit, eat and change? Kitchen, wifi, changing space, wheelchair access.

Start with your brand, not your wardrobe.

Too many clients treat a shoot like a shopping trip. The better approach is to plan two to four looks that answer what your images must do: website, LinkedIn, press kit or social.

Bring layered pieces in solid mid-tones, a backup for anything that creases, and tell us how you’ll use the pictures before the day.
