Why I LOVE evening photos 💭
My favourite time to take couples for photographs is not directly after the ceremony or during the drinks reception, it’s in the evening after the meal. And no, it’s not just because of the golden light (although that obviously helps get my juices flowing!) We aren’t always blessed with golden light, and it’s still my favourite time to take you out. Why? Because the majority of the formalities of the day are done, over. You can relax knowing that the ceremony went smoothly, the speeches are over, everyone enjoyed their dinner and your guests are having a good time. You’ve successfully married your best friend and have pulled off a wonderful wedding! Clap clap clap.
You are at your most relaxed in the evening. You’ve had a few drinks and have maybe hit a bit of a wall because you’ve eaten more than your dress/suit allows and having the same conversation with each of your guests is starting to get a bit annoying. You need a little break. Let’s take you away from your guests, stretch your legs, give you some time alone with your new husband/wife.
These are the moments where the best photographs are taken. Your shoulders have dropped. You are entirely comfortable in my company (but you were from the start) You know you can relax and say whatever you want. The best photos are taken when you are 100% authentically you. THATS why it’s my favourite time.
