A bit of Hull history hiding in plain sight. This building at 21A Wilton Street was once the Scandinavian Sailors Temperance Home—a safe harbor for sailors coming in from Victoria Dock over a century ago. It’s seen better days, but the character is still there if you look for it.

The Survivor of Queen Victoria Square

This corner of Hull has a backbone. Originally the Yorkshire Penny Bank (1898), it’s a rare survivor of the 1941 Blitz that leveled the buildings surrounding it.

Designed by Benjamin Septimus Jacobs in the Renaissance Revival style, it’s built from buff-brown terracotta on a massive red granite base. I wanted to strip away the modern noise and show the skeletal strength of a building that refused to fall.

Little shot from today, looking west. Really starting to experiment with editing more and more.

Amsterdam 2025. I’m trying to find my own style lately and these moody, high-contrast edits are really sticking. Took this on a flat day in Amsterdam and it looked a bit 'meh' in color, but I think the B&W has given it a new life. 🏙️ It’s more about the mood than the perfect weather for me now. Do you like this vibe or should I stick to the color?

Just a couple from a little exploration shoot I did down wincolmlee. Just practicing certain methods and angles.

Built in 1897 as a sanctuary for the children of the sea. St. Andrew’s House has stood through Victorian gales and the Hull Blitz. From 1995 to 2002, it was my sanctuary, too. Capturing the Gothic lines of the place that shaped my own history.

The IJ Waterfront, Amsterdam.

There is a specific kind of light you only find in the rain. Translating the grit I see in Hull to the streets of Amsterdam.

Paragon Station.
Most people are just rushing to catch a train, but I’m looking at the geometry. This station is more than a transit hub—it’s the gateway to the city, framed by the industrial steel and glass that defines our history.
I’ve captured this in the Shady Shaun Noir style: high-contrast, stark, and focused on the structural soul of the North.
From Hull to the world. One frame at a time.
