It's really nice to have spaces filling for my London photography events and creative meetups. A big big thank you to those joining me. They're events I've been hoping to do for a while now. While not everyone's cup of tea, London is an amazing place with loads to see, I'm looking forward to hosting and showing you some of my favourite places. Spaces remain for all but if you'd like to join us, I wouldn't hang about.

Saturday 7th Nov - Photo Walk London
A day of sightseeing - Big Ben, Westminster, Waterloo, The South Bank, Tower Bridge and Sky Garden.

Sunday 8th Nov - Natural History Museum and wildlife photographer of the year exhibition

Saturday 12th December - Galleries and Lights... The National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery on Trafalgar Square followed by a festive wander on Regents Street, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street.

Details for all of my upcoming events can be found online (link in bio).

London will be great guv' we'll go up the apples and pears and spend a monkey on a pen in the gift shop... other cockney rhyming slang I shall make up on the day. It'll be fun. You should come.

🎨 London Galleries + Christmas Lights – Saturday 12th December

Have you ever wanted to visit London's best galleries but never quite found the time? Or would you like to visit but don't have anyone to go with because they think galleries are 'boring'? If so, this day is for you. I love art and I want to share it with you.

Join me and some other friendly people as we visit the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery, taking in some wonderful art at a relaxed pace. No art history knowledge is required, just an interest in art and a willingness to enjoy the day. Expect to see famous works by Monet, Da Vinci, Picasso, Renoir and many more. After meeting and a quick introduction, you'll be free to wander the galleries either on your own, with myself or others in the group, meetup times and locations will be provided throughout the day. All very chilled.

Afterwards, we'll head out to take in the festive atmosphere with a short photo tour (no photography experience required) beneath the Christmas lights on Oxford Street, Regent Street, and Carnaby Street. 🎄✨

Whether you're an art enthusiast, keen to see the Christmas lights, or simply looking to meet new people and enjoy a day out in London, I'd love for you to join us. Spaces are limited and advanced booking is required. Details via the website (link in bio to my website then click Learn/Explore and London) or please just drop me a message.

The roof at King's Cross Station was designed to resemble a tree... pillars as trunks, struts as enveloping branches. Cool eh. When you realise there are stories and concepts behind the design of most buildings beyond that of functionality, it brings a different level of appreciation. Architecture is art in gigantic form.

After a brilliant willow weaving demonstration by Lawsons Market Garden at ContemporaryCountry on Saturday, we were chatting a little afterwards about photography and I was asked 'what's your inspiration'?

Now, having never been asked (or in a position to be asked) or having really thought about it, I struggled a bit to answer and simply said 'landscapes'. Well, as true as that is, it got me thinking a little deeper and the answer is a little less vague than that, I reframed the question and asked myself 'what moves you enough to make you want to pick your camera up and take photographs'...

I've come up with an answer...
nature - both earthly and human.

Sunsets, woodland, gardens, flowers, a beautiful landscape, the view from a mountain (lots here in Norfolk 😂) but also man made objects, crafts, skills, performance, architecture, human behaviour/emotion. Perhaps occasionally how the two (earthly & human) connect/interact, a man made object within a landscape perhaps, a single figure walking on a beach...

After figuring all that out, I went to the woods and took some photos of trees. Not for Instagram or Facebook likes but because it's a place I like to be, especially with the sun streaming through the leaves about an hour or two before sunset. It's a place of calm but a place of life.

Anyway, being asked one simple question gave me an actual focus and made me think a bit more about what I do and why.

So, maybe this week, have a think about what your own inspiration is... What moves you to pick a camera up or get creative? Once you have that, the photography will follow.
