Duanne & Alison married at the Inverness Archive Centre, before heading back up the stunning Strathconon glen for the rest of their celebrations. Duanne is a gamekeeper on a private estate, and his lovely friends had decorated a bothy on the grounds for their special dinner, plus followed through on Alison's "crazy idea after a few drinks" to decorate a tractor & trailer for a post-wedding jaunt up the fields! Great fun, plus I got to ride up front in the cab, so that made my day! Or, maybe the absolutely stunning views around the glen did.

Either way, I had such a laugh with D&A and there were too many pretty spots to choose from for photo locations. But they featured snow-capped mountains, a ruined bothy, D&A balancing on rocks in a river and a waterfall surrounded by wild gorse.... so I was a very happy photographer!

Plus, they told me their story as we clambered around the fields, and it was so romantic, with them meeting for the first time 32 years ago, before finally getting together 11 months ago!!* Since then, they haven't wasted any more time, with Alison moving 100s of miles North to be with Duanne in a wilderness where deer massively outnumber humans... and they're now married!

Thank you both for having me on this gorgeous day, and I hope you now have many, many happy years together ahead of you.

Take care,

Alison x

Californian based Cassandra & Dustin love the UK, taking every opportunity to visit, and are absolutely in love with the Highlands... and not just because Dustin is a huge whisky fan!

Dustin had originally made romantic plans to propose to "Tudor history aficionado" Cassie on a holiday to Hever Castle outside London, but a car accident just four days before they traveled resulted in heartbreak and the trip being canceled. Cassandra needed various surgeries, a lot of rest and their wedding plans were put on hold.

And although they still got engaged at home, they missed out on their adventure and romantic proposal photographs. So I was delighted when they reached out to plan a celebration of their engagement on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

We chatted back and forth and they were very open to my suggestions, so we settled on meeting at the famous Eilean Donan Castle for a few dramatic shots before heading across to Skye itself and venturing North.

"We absolutely love this! When I reading your email to my boyfriend, he got teary eyed because your suggestion of starting at Eileen donan and traveling to Talisker is his dream!"

We made for the Sligahan Bridge, with a few stops enroute to take advantage of the gorgeous mix of classic moody weather and sunlight catching the Skye bridge.

We had such a laugh on this beautiful day, reveling in the gorgeous wintry landscape and their happiness for their future together.... with some unexpected news making me literally jump up and down and clap my hands with delight!

Ultimately we arrived at Talisker distillery for a few extra photos and a well deserved dram for whisky-mad Dustin, before I headed back across the snow-capped landscape towards home.

Thank you Cassie & Dustin for trusting me with this very special time in your lives - it was truly a pleasure to meet you both and I wish you all the happiness for your future together xx

P.s. I'd like to say a big thank you to the Diageo staff at Talisker, who were so welcoming and accommodating.

Jenny and Alan were married just over a week ago and arrghh this was SUCH a brilliant day!!

When I first met both Jenny and Alan throughout their wedding morning, they each came over to me for a big hug and radiated such genuine warmth and a lovely familiarity. This whole-hearted welcome was echoed by their wedding parties and honestly, we just had such a good time from manic giggling first thing to them bouncing on the dance floor.

Plus, a sky that threatened rain all morning burst forth with sunshine just at the moment the bridesmaids started to walk outside for the ceremony on the lawns at the Loch Ness Country House Hotel. It was pretty special, as was the light for our wee trip along to the Loch that evening ❤️

J&A thank you for making me feel so welcome amongst your wonderful guests, because capturing these memories for you was an absolute pleasure.

NEW ON THE BLOG - CLOE & GARETH

I should really have taken the time during the slightly quieter months to write a load of blog posts shouting about all my wonderful 2025 weddings. But instead, I painted my living room a colour I don't like....
But hey, I managed a few blogs and will get some more out before things get too crazy busy to think again 😄

SO, tap the link below to read all about Cloe & Gareth’s wonderfully dramatic day at Am Ploc open-air church at Torridon.

Bethany and Jamie were married at the always special Assynt House near Evanton, in the gardens on a truly roasting April afternoon! They'd booked out the venue for the weekend, with owner Elizabeth and her team making everyone so welcome and feel so cared for during their stay.

They chose an intimate day with their very best people, who brought a lot of love and laughter to this beautiful location. And sun cream, thankfully!

B&J are naturally shy souls, and I had to laugh when I overheard Jamie muttering 'Oh god, what are we meant to do?!' after their friends had been kicked out of the photos and the couple were alone with me and my camera 😆 But we rolled with it, chatting while I made a mixture of gentle and heckled suggestions to help them relax into the photos.

We got some belters. And omg their eyes both absolutely light up when they're laughing together!

I'm also really glad we found some newly-bloomed wild gorse for a few portraits on the nearby lanes, because it was Jamie's late Mum's favourite scent and featured in a special tribute to her as part of their wedding decorations.

Bethany & Jamie, thank you again for trusting me to capture your day and for your kind words below. I'm so glad you love your previews and will have your full gallery out to you soon.

Ailsa and Mark married back in April 2024 and completely coincidentally booked their newborn shoot on their 2 year wedding anniversary! Such a lovely way to celebrate and we got some gorgeous portraits of them and wee Gregor ❤️

I want you to look like yourselves in your wedding photos, not a vogue cover! Unapologetically yourselves, unfiltered and authentic connection.

I am not expecting you to pose like models for our couples shoot, in fact I’d much rather you be yourself and have fun! Your couple’s shoot is more than just getting lovely photos of you both. It's an opportunity to spend some quality time just the two of you and create memories that you’ll fondly look back on.

And don’t worry, if being in front of the camera feels awkward, I’ll give you some gentle prompts whilst keeping it natural and relaxed.

This was Manuela and Lewis's 3rd wedding...to each other!

Firstly, they had a simple registry office wedding to make everything official, followed by a celebration in M's home country of Argentina. I was trusted to capture the 3rd and (probably!) final celebration in Lewis' hometown of Fort William.

The base for celebrations was the Clan MacDuff Hotel, run by Lewis’ family and I joined Manuela at the hotel’s lodge for getting ready and sharing traditional Argentinian 'Mate' tea.

After M&L’s ceremony in the stunning St Andrews Church in the town centre, they made a fabulously cinematic exit, straight into Lewis driving them away and up the Glen for romantic time by themselves. It was admittedly freezing, but Manu and her stunning self-designed gown survived a gorgeous wee shoot before we headed down the hill to the hotel.

Thus followed a few family photos, speeches and dinner before The Main Event - Dancing!!

The couple - especially Manuela - are serious about dancing. So, we had a traditional Scottish ceilidh then onto the Argentinian 'Pogo' time. Which involved a LOT of bouncing! I was booked until midnight to document the fun, and there was no doubt that the dancing was going to continue well into the wee hours!!

This was such a fun day and I always love learning about and documenting blended traditions. Thank you so much M&L for having me as part of your day, and please get in touch if you're ready for round 4 in another beautiful part of the world! 😀
