It was wonderful to once again photograph the Mikeysline annual Burns Supper at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness last Thursday.

Guests enjoyed a four course meal, Burns speeches, live music from Tartan Paint and a silent auction. Such a lovely night of community and fun!

Back in May I had the pleasure of capturing press shots at the Port of Cromarty Firth. As the port is set to be expanded, the Scottish Energy Minister, Michael Shanks MP paid a visit and enjoyed a boat trip around the port under blue skies.

Here's the full, lovely gallery of all the gorgeous decked-out smiling faces from Mikeysline Royal Ascot ladies' day at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness.

It was such a pleasure to cover this packed-out event. Everyone was really happy and up for it and enjoyed entertainment from Pete Bullock McKie, Highland Voices, delicious lunch and then afternoon tea (to soak up the fizz!) a live auction, best dressed competitions and of course the races themselves, all helped along by host Stephen Laurie.

And they raised.... wait for it....
....£27,000 for Mikeysline!! 🤩

An amazing amount for this incredible charity, that provides vital mental health services and support across the Highlands.

An interesting recent shoot working with the National Trust for Scotland capturing images of a lost-lost ring which belonged to the Victorian era Scottish geologist Hugh Miller.

And a funny wee story…

I was photographing a property a few days ago near Cromarty, focusing on the new conservatory & windows. I had been enjoying chatting away to the owners and, as I plinkered about in the kitchen, I overheard them comparing notes about the local news stories on their tablets. They were amazed that a ring once owned by Hugh MiIler had been found as far away as South Africa and, as they admired the ring online, I got to wander through and say "I took those photos!"

I was glad I'd spent so long craning my neck to get detailed shots of the ring's engraving with my macro lens :-D Turns out the gentleman's great grandfather had been a keen archeologist and had actually known Hugh Miller.

Just goes to show, it's a very small world...and I love my job!

Some interesting recent work for Architectural Design Studio

THE BRASS HOUSE

We recently got professional photographs taken of our design which transforms an existing house into a 3-storey family home. The design is better suited to modern living, including an open plan kitchen, dining, and living space on the ground floor. These ground floor spaces are subtly separated by a curved wall which houses a kitchen run and is offset from the ceiling to allude to one space. A small-scaled gymnasium is also located on the ground floor.

It was wonderful to capture the launch of The Vault By Chivas Brothers at the start of March. Hosted within the Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, The Vault will offer guests an exclusive and bespoke tasting experience of the Chivas Brothers' selection of rare high-aged whiskies. Take a guess - how many lights do you think I used for that first shot?

Just a wee throwback to a press shoot with the team at the The Singleton of Glen Ord Distillery last year after their wonderful news of winning Visitor Attraction of the year at the Icons of Whisky Scotland and World Whiskies Award 2024.

I’ve shot images of the Distillery before back in 2022, so it was great to be back again shooting in such a stunning space.

More recently the team have celebrated winning Scotland's Leading Distillery Tour 2024 at the World Travel Awards - amazing!👏
