"In the middle of my crazy there's always you"

I've been loving experimenting with this technique recently, and applying it to enhance the story I am capturing. And I can't seem to get enough.

Here is a little sneak peek of yesterday's wedding styled shoot I was part of this week at the Kings Head, Cirencester.

I don't do many shoots anymore as I generally prefer capturing real stories, but I just couldn't pass this up since it had a banging look and a formidable group of suppliers!
Besides I love spending time at the Kings' Head Hotel - it almost feels like home! 😁

Recently I've been really enjoying leaning into the candid moments and experimenting with creating images that involve the energy and mood of the day.

I realized however that I don't often show them.
Of course the romantic wedding portraits often feel more compelling to show:
Show off the romance, the emotions, the beauty.
But there's a lot of the story that gets missed that deserves to be told.

Needless to say, H&As reception at Stroud Brewery | Organic Craft Beer was full of fun and colour and energy and I love how these photos have turned out.

Ciao 👋 I'm Lisa - photographer and owner of Ampersand Memories Photography.
I capture heartfelt, romantic, casually beautiful weddings all throughout the Cotswolds and beyond.

I get asked this quite a lot… how did I come up with the name Ampersand Memories?

The ampersand symbol (&) simply means 'and' but to me it's a part of my love story. The word got transformed into what I say to say "I love you" ❤️

Ultimately it means being together.
It’s the one thing that connects two entities to be one.
It’s the love between You & Me.
It’s the thing that creates an Us.

This is what I strive to infuse in all of my photographs on a wedding day.

May has always been super special for me and it always goes by like a whirlwind 🌪️
I guess it's to be expected when the sun is finally out and you're having fun. 

2-3. had a nice little trip to Burton-On-The-Water with my mum during her visit. Loved seeing all the wisteria in bloom 💜 
4. cuddles with Henry after getting into a fight with the neighbours cat 🙄
5. the garden is finally blooming! 🌷
6. really felt the summer vibes coming back with car sing-alongs, trips to the beach and sweet treats that help ease the heat. ☀️
7. worked with some lovely couples this month and got to meet a whole bunch of people starting their wedding planning journey 👩‍❤️‍👨
8. back at the NEC, bringing my exhibiting expertise to my friend at this years' UK Games Expo🎲
9. our traditional spa day for our 7th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY 💌

Starting Iris and Keelan's 1 year wedding countdown with a fun engagement shoot on the beach with the doggos 🐶🌊🌞

Went a little farther afield this time, travelled all the way to Devon for this gorgeous spot surrounded by dramatic dunes and glittering sea.
But it was totally worth it because there's nothing like this near where I live in the Cotswolds. 

Immaculate summer vibes 😎

I love offering engagement shoots because it truly gives me (and you!) a real chance to get to know each other, learn your quirks, your favourite things, the way you move, what your relationship is like. I always encourage going somewhere special, meaningful or familiar, so you feel comfortable and help you relax into it.

And of course we can include your furry family members. This is a special time for them too! ❤️
