Before I return to my editing cave (I live in Glasgow and it’s snowing) I wanted to take a moment to look back once again to the glorious day that was Saturday. A selection of film shots from R + T’s wedding day in Edinburgh.

This was the first time I had shot film for a wedding and I think I’m addicted. Film packages can now be added to 2027 weddings, and for the next year some clients will have film included in their coverage as I continue to experiment and play.

First wedding of the season with Rosalea & Tim

I first met these two for their engagement session last year - and it was great to see their loving, joyous vibe hadn’t dulled in the slightest.

The sunshine was spoiling us and inspired me to divert our planned portrait session to new heights - I’m getting ahead of myself.

Their ceremony took place at the fabulous Edinburgh City Chambers, where celebrations spilled out to the Royal Mile. You must always be prepared to put on a show for tourist passer-by’s, it adds to the charm.

We took some snaps amongst Old Town’s signature architecture before chugging up to Calton Hill to indulge in the views. These might some of my favourite portraits I have taken thus far.

It was then on to Leith Arches for the final stretch of the evening. Tear-jerking speeches, tasty pizza and incredible dance moves were shared.

Rosalea and Tim encapsulate everything love should be, safety and comfort, fun and chaos, always and forever.

Escaping to Oban for a day or two…

Got extremely lucky with the gorgeous weather on the west last weekend. Had to opportunity to get the film camera out again and capture some gorgeous scenes.

a weekend away on film & digital

Sharing some more personal moments from a few weeks ago where I spent a long weekend with my partner’s family celebrating his dad’s 60th birthday. We stayed in a gorgeous farmhouse, just on the outskirts of St Andrews and I was roped in to mark the occasion with blustery photoshoot on the beach.

It was the perfect opportunity to trial my new baby - my recently acquired film camera which I’ve been putting to good use over the past month and you can expect to see more fun experiments as wedding season kicks into gear.

couple shoot on very rainy edinburgh morning with film + digital

the start of a very happy relationship (I hope) between me and interesting 35mm into my work. I’ve been using point and shoots in my personal life for so long I felt ready to take my skills to the next level.

Happy new year everyone ✨

Thought I would take a second to quickly reintroduce myself to all my new followers. I’m Josie your friendly Glasgow based photographer who loves to take snaps of people in love.
