Cyanotype Magic…

There is something so beautiful about every step of the cyanotype printing process, and I love them all - maybe apart from the frustration of when a print just doesn’t want to come out the way you envision! 😄

S U M M E R P R I N T I N G

For me, there’s nothing quite like printing outside in the sunlight when I’m working on my cyanotypes.

When I’m printing a bit more technically or creating work for a client or part of a collaboration I use my UV printing lights in the darkroom but my favourite way to print is outside in the sunshine, it just slows the process right down and is so much more beautiful.

I am so happy to share with you that I have a wonderful feature in Country Living UK | in their September issue! I am showing you how to easily create a cyanotype using pressed flowers from your garden. It’s out now and a really beautiful issue.

It was great fun to work with Alun Callender Photography on creating the step by step images and my portrait, I didn’t expect it to be quite so big though! 🤣

I am SO inspired by water, as I know many of you are too. No matter what work I’m doing I keep finding myself circling background to water. I think that’s why I love cyanotype, it’s so unpredictable - and the water is such a beautiful part of the process. Actually might be my favourite part.
