Following on from yesterdays post, a visit to the Trossachs isn't complete without a stop of at the iconic Boat House on Loch Ard. Ben Lomond (partially hidden by cloud) catching the first of the mornings sunlight in the distance.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas & New Year.
Just thought I'd share an image that I took on the last outing of 2025. Nipped up to The Trossachs on Hogmanay morning, where in places the temperature was dipping down to -5.5Ā°!
Thankfully there was no wind or breeze meaning still calm waters on the Loch.
Hopefully with snow forecast over the next few days, I'll manage to get some properly wintery photo's, but with the Scottish weather being what it is, you just never know!

Well it's nearly the festive period and other than copious amounts of food & booze, it can only mean 1 thing... time of work and (fingers crossed) some wintry photography!
While I wait for the sub zero conditions to hit, here are a few images from a chilly Rannoch Moor at the end of November. Temperature was an invigorating -4Ā°, but there was no breeze meaning near perfect reflections of the Black Mount in
Lochan na h-Achlaise. Could have done with a few clouds in the sky to break up the blue and add some interest and a wee bit of mist would have been nice, but sometimes you just have to work with what nature gives you!

Headed out yesterday morning with the aim to try and catch the last of the Autumn colour at a woodland in Fife, but decided at the last minute to head for Alva Glen to see what I could capture there.
So glad I did! I've only photographed there once before a couple of years ago and to be honest, wasn't overly impressed.
Yesterday however.....

Took a run up to one of my favourite spots in the Trossachs at Loch Ard and was lucky enough to catch the autumn colour catching some early morning light from the rising sun.
Needless to say it didn't last long......
