I knew life was about to get busy, so I did something I've never really been very good at...
I planned ahead and booked some time for me!
I wanted to make sure that, during busy season I keep feeling my best, so I could keep showing up on top form for the people who trust me with their memories.
And if you're anything like me - a mum who's always putting everyone else first, a bride counting down to your wedding day, or someone who keeps saying "I'll book something next month"... this is your little nudge.
First stop was Claire at Lūmina Wellness Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage for a lymphatic massage. I'd never had one before, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but wow. It was one of those treatments where you don't quite realise how much your body has been holding onto until you get off the bed. I walked out feeling taller, lighter, less puffy and genuinely full of energy. It wasn't just relaxing- it felt like my whole body had been given a reset, and I can completely understand why people rave about it.
Next was Nicolle at Boujee Ink [on insta] for my new tattoo. If you know me on a personal level, you'll know just how much this one means to me. Sitting in that chair felt less like an appointment and more like a conversation. I left feeling heard, understood and incredibly grateful that I'd found someone I trusted with something so personal.
And then there was Laura at Aura Skin and Headspa … I genuinely don't think I've ever relaxed that much. My breathing slowed, became deeper, and for what felt like the first time in forever, my mind just... stopped. I wasn't thinking about tomorrow's to-do list or everything waiting for me at home. I could literally feel my nervous system relaxing & regulating. I was completely present, just enjoying the treatment. It was honestly one of the most relaxing experiences I've ever had.
Three completely different businesses.
Three completely different experiences.
But every single one left me with exactly the same feeling.
How lucky are we to have women creating spaces where other women feel genuinely welcomed, supported and cared for?
No pressure to be anything other than yourself. No judgement. Just women backing women, building brilliant businesses, and making people leave feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.
So if you're looking for a recommendation, this is me wholeheartedly sending you to all three.
There's something really special about women creating spaces where other women feel looked after. Long may that continue.
