The last performances of this year's The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle are tonight. Glad I made the effort to get some pics from Arthur's Seat and see the show on opening night. Well done to everyone involved!

Seeing the fireworks at the end of the was such a ritual. Even more exciting when I realised you could watch it from Princes Street Gardens or seated at the Ross Bandstand. It had been running for 40 years but ended due to a lack of funding and sponsers. As much as I like fireworks they do seem wasteful and bad for the environment and wildlife and I imagine very expensive.
What's your views, do you miss the annual display?
