Photos from the last photowalk are now up!

This is the second time we have done a photowalk in Folkestone and I can't wait to go back again. It really is a fun and vibrant place with lots to offer for photographic opportunities.

We started from the harbour arm at 2.30pm before heading off in the direction of the creative quarter, which has lots of independent and interesting shops. We headed from there up to The Bayle, the oldest part of Folkestone. Then we walked along to The Leas and then down on to The Lower Leas Coastal Park to the beach and back along to the harbour arm. We also popped to visit the Banksy before heading for something to eat.

We finished for pizza and beer and the amazing Brewing Brothers Beachside around 6.30pm. It was a lovely way to round off the day.

The weather was amazing, especially given the forecast was for rain all day. The only time it rained was whilst we were indoors having dinner, perfect!

After dinner, a few of us stayed on for a walk down the harbour arm. The rain had stopped and there was an amazing sky and some lightning over the ocean. It was made especially haunting with the bar at the end of the harbour arm playing Lana Del Ray, šŸ˜†šŸ˜, It made for an ethereal soundtrack to the beautiful ocean scene with lightning in the distance.

Please click the link to see the blog post and eveyones photos, because they are amazing. Also you get to see me trying to do my best impression of Martin Parr's deadpan self Portrait in Benidorm. Thanks Penny for taking that!

The next photowalk is in Hackney on Saturday 3 October. You'll see a link to that from my home page and from this blog post about Follkestone.

Enjoy.

We had a really lovely time on the Folkestone Photowalk on Friday.

The weather forecast looked like rain was highly likely, but it was warm and dry and perfect conditions for the walk.

The only rain came whilst we were eating pizza and enjoying a craft beer inside the fantasic Brewing Brothers Beachside

Afterwards, a few of us headed along the harbour arm to make a few photos at sunset. There was a beautiful sky and some flashes of lightning over the ocean, beautiful!

Thanks to Neil, Wasiim, Penny, Sue, Ed, Martin, David, Samantha and Willow for coming.

I'm starting to plan the next photowalks, so watch this space.

Relaxed vibe, fun, social and creative photowalk.

Please join us...

We will be starting and finishing this photowalk from the harbour arm in Folkestone. There should be plenty to photograph with a couple of events on that day. I believe there is a classic VW car show at the harbour arm and live music throughout that day. Of course there is the beach, the harbour,

Hi everyone,

I’m thrilled to share that we now have three people officially booked for our Paris photography trip this October. A huge thank you to those who have signed up!

We still have a few spaces available, so if you’ve been on the fence, there is still time to join us.

Here is a quick rundown of how the trip works and what we have planned:

Travel & Accommodation

Getting There:
You'll arrange your own travel and accommodation. I highly recommend the Eurostar, as it takes you directly into Gare du Nord in the heart of Paris. Depending on what times you book, tickets can be found for as little as £55 each way.

Where to Stay:
I suggest looking for a hotel in the Saint-Lazare area, ideally close to a Metro station. It’s a fantastic, central base for our itinerary.

The Itinerary Highlights

Friday Welcome Dinner:
We’ll kick things off by meeting up on Friday evening at Pink Mamma, a spectacular multi-story Italian restaurant. I’ve been to one of its sister restaurants before and the food is incredible. You can check it out here: Pink Mamma.

Saturday & Sunday Photo Walks:
We’ll spend both days exploring Paris together as a group. I’m designing curated walks that hit the iconic, must-see landmarks as well as some brilliant hidden gems.

The Sights:
Expect to shoot locations like the gorgeous botanical gardens of Jardin des Plantes, Montmartre Cemetery, SacrĆ©-Cœur, Moulin Rouge, Notre-Dame, and of course, the Eiffel Tower.
Sunset Cruise: Included in the price is a river boat trip, which I plan to book right around sunset for that perfect golden-hour light.

Fueling Our Creativity:
Don’t worry, there will be plenty of coffee and pastry stops along the way, and hopefully a classic Jambon-Beurre (ham and butter baguette) or two!

Wrapping Up

The official workshop concludes after dinner on Sunday evening. However, if you need to catch a late train back on Sunday night to be ready for work on Monday, you are completely free to do so.

If you have any questions or want to snag one of the remaining spots, just let me know. I can’t wait to capture Paris with you!

Best,
Andy
