Melanie and Simon, Poets House, Ely

Some weddings you can feel the shape of before anything happens. Melanie and Simon's was one of those. A small crowd, people who actually knew each other, and no interest in a day run to a timetable.

Poets House suits that. It sits in the middle of Ely with the cathedral over the rooftops, and once the ceremony is done the whole place opens onto the lawn. That's where the afternoon settled. Confetti, glasses going round, and the sort of noise that means nobody is checking their watch.

The cathedral being right there was too good to ignore, so we snuck out for a couple of shots at the front of it and had them back before anyone noticed.

This is what a black tie birthday at Madingley Hall looks like.

Drinks and a saxophonist out on the North Lawn, then dinner in the Grand Saloon, and a room full of people who'd made a proper effort.

Congratulations Belinda and Jon.

A quiet Catholic service at St Hugh of Lincoln in Letchworth, put together the way they wanted it rather than the way it's usually done.

Then straight across the road into Broadway Gardens for the couple shots, with the fountains running behind them.

Patricia and Sharon got the kind of April day you hope for. Sun out, blue sky over King's, and the two of them wandering through Cambridge like they had all the time in the world.

We took a slow loop round the city first, the college, the river, all the classic spots, before their ceremony at the registry office made it official.

A genuinely lovely day with two people who clearly adore each other.

A real privilege to be part of this year's Memorial Day at Cambridge American Cemetery, photographing the ceremony and the rededication of the newly refurbished Visitor Center.

The morning brought speeches, military honours, a gun salute, and a flypast overhead, before the ribbon was cut to unveil the new exhibits inside.

Among those in attendance: United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom Warren Stephens, Commissioner John Freeman of the American Battle Monuments Commission, Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Mrs Julie Spence, and Major General Akshai Gandhi.

Favour just graduated from Cambridge and we spent the afternoon making the most of the city - the colleges, the landmarks, all of it.

The ceremony is one moment. The city is the whole story. These are the photos that capture both.

A Victorian country house turned boutique aparthotel, set in three acres of Cambridgeshire countryside.

I was brought in to photograph the rooms and event spaces at Willingham House in Willingham village, just outside Cambridge, and it was a genuinely interesting property to work with.

From the luxury rooms with their warm fabrics and period details through to the event and conference spaces, each area had its own character.
