The first step is to accept that you truly are beautiful as you are - some wonderful accounts I love to remind me to do this are .adlington and
If you absolutely can’t then tell me what you’re worried about and I can keep this in mind both when I’m taking your photos and when I’m choosing the final photos. I’m not a huge fan of thinking we should edit out our flaws entirely so I’m probably not the photographer if you wanted 90s style magazine edits but I am happy to soften elements that cause you stress if you speak to me. As your wedding photographer I want you to come away with photos that you adore - and I’ll do anything to help you achieve that including being your cheerleader and reassuring big sister on the day.

Setting the times on your wedding morning can really set the tone of your day! Build in a cushion, always assume you’ll need longer than you think, and communicate your ideal timings with your suppliers so they are able to advise you best. I am always happy to advise on timings throughout the wedding planning process if you haven’t got a dedicated wedding planner as this part of planning can often feel super stressful! With ten years of experience I have seen so many times that building in more time than you think you need means a far more enjoyable morning and means that you don’t miss out on any shots that you imagined you would from your day.

Of course I love to see thoughtful favours and over the years I have seen some really great ones - however - if budget is starting to become an issue then there are so many more joy filled things that you can spend your money on. I have honestly seen so many guests leave their favours behind and another silver lining is that a minimalistic table looks great!!

Setting the guest list will set the tone of your wedding day! If you want to feel cocooned in a safe space then it makes sense to only invite those that you feel super close to and comfortable with - if you want a party to kick off in the evening then have you got your party animals there. Having a think about how you want your wedding day to feel, can set the tone for who you invite and how many people you invite - and if that ends up meaning that you elope then that’s fine too!! Spoiler alert, that’s exactly what my husband and I did.
I would love to speak with you if you’re planning a 2027 or 2028 wedding or elopement and feel like I would be a good fit for your day.

Follow along for 30 days of tips and advice for a calmer and more joy filled wedding day from a wedding photographer with over ten years of experience!

This is day one and we are going in strong with a tip for your group photos.

Who is that super organised friend who know a lot of your family - have them nearby to gather the groups and have the next group ready and waiting by the time the previous group has been photographed!

That way you’re standing about for the least time possible and you can spend more time having fun.

I also suggest to my couples that they have a maximum of ten main formal groups as this makes sure they don’t dominate your time during the drinks reception when most people want to chat to you and you will want to enjoy the drinks/food and entertainment that you’ve planned!
