You never know what you’ll see whilst out birding, I always take a moment to appreciate every bird we see, from a starling or a sparrow to a Sparrowhawk. I think myself lucky I am in the great outdoors with my wife, breathing fresh air and taking it all in. Obviously some days are better than others! I never would have imagined we would see this absolutely magnificent Juvenile Cuckoo hunting in the reeds yesterday at WWT Steart Marshes which instantly took our breath away. So iconic with its striking stripes and posture we knew exactly what it was as soon as our eyes met! We saw our first cuckoo in Cornwall earlier this year which we were over the moon about, and now this little cutie posing for us on this dinky wooden bridge over a drying up stream was next level! Honestly, we couldn’t believe our eyes, right in the window before it flies off over to Africa. This is one we’ll never forget, a memory for life and I am so proud I managed to get these photos, my best to date in my opinion, I have come a long way that’s for sure yet there’s still a lot to learn ahead of me! Roll on the next adventure!
