Wedding cakes!! Love it or hate it, it’s a tradition that’s here to stay.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it.

We all know some of the… questionable history behind the cake cut (if you don’t, give it a quick google 👀).

Anyway — we’re choosing to ignore that and focus on now.

Do whatever you want with your cake.
Go bold, go weird, go full personality.
Style, design, flavour — nothing’s off limits.
It’s a fun photo moment.
And if you cut it later in the day, it turns into a whole thing your evening guests can get involved in too.

And… you get to eat cake.
Win-win, really.

To follow on from our last post, here’s jacks.

This photo is simple. Nothing to fancy. Nothing over the top.

To me it’s classic. I know the straight faced pose maybe isn’t what everyone thinks of with wedding photography, we did get lots of smiling, fun photos too don’t worry. But I think it adds an edge to this photo. It was shot on medium format, that combined with The black & white film was the perfect shot for this photo. It’s strong, clear, no distractions. The shallow depth you can get from medium format smooths out the background perfectly and the detail is amazing (instagram may not show this off).

Lauren & Paces style and outfits also lend themself to this style of photo.

I love it, and was excited about this photo from the moment I shot it.

Had an absolute blast at the Alt Wedding Fair ✨

We’ve already been catching up with some of the lovely humans we met there, and honestly — what a crowd. Brilliant people, amazing vendors, and a solid amount of very good dogs. If you’re planning a wedding, it’s well worth checking out.
