Frankie & Rhys 🀍

I've been photographing weddings for a LONG time now and Rhyse Farm near Tunbridge Wells genuinely stopped me in my tracks. One of the most unique venues I've come across in years and the team there were out of this world. Candice the coordinator was there from the second I arrived at 10am to the second I left at half past midnight and never once looked like she was anywhere else she'd rather be. That kind of energy on a wedding day makes everything easier for everyone.

This one was extra special for me personally because not only did I photograph the whole day but I also DJed the evening alongside Lee from Party Punks, which marks the first time I've ever done both in the same day. Lee and the Party Punks crew are the standout alt wedding DJs I've ever seen and working alongside them is always an absolute privilege. Add in the rest of the team pulling together from hair, makeup, content creation and beyond and this genuinely was a dream team from start to finish.

Frankie and Rhys put their own stamp on every single part of the day. Doc Martens for Frankie and the bridesmaids, shots entering the wedding breakfast to Motionless in White, a venue that felt completely and totally them. From start to finish this wedding was perfect and I mean that.

Oh and if you scroll right to the end of this carousel there's a little Easter egg waiting for you. A nugget of history from one of Frankie and Rhys's very first photos together. You guessed it, I took that one too 😊

Dan & Becky 🀍

Just under a week ago I had the absolute pleasure of being part of Dan and Becky's wedding day at Mill Barns in Alveley and what a day it was. The love in that room was something else entirely, with family and friends traveling from as far as Australia to be there for them, and you could feel every bit of it from the moment the day started.

The weather showed up, the dancefloor went off, Bruce Springsteen made more than one appearance on the playlist and Chester City were never far from the conversation πŸ˜‚

The staff at The Mill Barns were brilliant from start to finish (as always) and made everything feel completely seamless, really can't speak highly enough of them. Some say that it was the venue they were πŸ˜‰ It was my fifth time at The Mill Barns and every time it has been brilliant.

Sneak peeks landed in their inbox within 24 hours and I cannot wait to get the full gallery finished for them 🀍

Are you planning a wedding at Mill Barns? Would love to hear about your day πŸ‘‡

Hannah & Chris at The Hundred House 🀍

Three completely different frames all taken within about 30 seconds of each other just before Hannah walked down the aisle. Hannah mid vows, that incredible room full of guests with the ribbons hanging from the ceiling, and the bridesmaids bouquets sitting on the stairs. The Hundred House is such a brilliant venue and this ceremony setup was something else. A wedding day moves fast and this is a pretty good reminder of why I keep the camera up even in the moments between moments.

Zoe & Ryan at Castle Bromwich Hall 🀍

Three ceremony frames and not one of them is the couple. Hands held tight between two guests in the pew, someone with their finger tracking every word of the hymn book, and then this lady who pulled her glasses down to get a proper look and I just happened to be there with a long lens. That second one is one of my favourite frames of the whole year if I'm honest. The bride and groom are always the main event but keeping one eye on the rest of the room during a ceremony is something I'm always doing. The quiet moments between guests are so easy to miss and so good when you get them right.

Tom & Danielle at Nuthurst Grange 🀍

Three detail shots from the morning and honestly a pretty good trio. Rolls Royce on the drive, Jimmy Choos straight out of the box and Coco Mademoiselle alongside them. Detail shots like these are such an important part of a full wedding gallery and something I always make sure I'm getting throughout the day. Wide shots, portraits, mid-range candids and then right down to the fine details. You wouldn't watch a film shot entirely in one type of frame, it would feel flat and boring within about ten minutes

A wedding gallery works exactly the same way. All those different shots together are what make it feel like the full story of the day rather than just a highlights reel.

Rhys & Liam at De Vere Tortworth Court πŸ–€ The ring exchange lasts a matter of seconds and it's one of the moments in a ceremony I'm most focused on getting right. Everything else can wait. This closeup in black and white is one of those frames I keep coming back to when I'm editing. Really happy with this one and so chuffed for these two.

Charlotte & James at Brinsop Court 🏰 I'll give you three guesses what was happening here. Charlotte, to her absolute credit, is standing there composed and dignified in the middle while everyone around her has completely fallen apart πŸ˜‚ This is why I love group photos. You set them up, you get everyone in position and then something happens that you could never have planned for. One of my favourite frames from the whole day.

David & Lucy at Barns & Yard, Hanley Hall πŸ–€

I always offer black and white edits and days like this are exactly why. Colour is brilliant but black and white does something different entirely. The textures in the venue, the fabric, the details all take centre stage in a way they don't always get to in colour. The emotions feel rawer somehow. And there's that timeless, almost retro quality that makes photos look like they could have been shot decades ago and that's not a bad thing at all, that's the whole point.

Three very different moments from the same day and all three feel completely their own πŸ–€

Macaulay & Bethan πŸ’› I'm not a religious man but churches are genuinely some of my favourite places to shoot. The history in the walls, the light coming through the stained glass, the sense that this building has been holding moments like this one for centuries before you got there. There's a weight to it that you just don't get anywhere else and I think it shows in the photos. These two walking back down that aisle is one of my favourite frames from the whole day.

Katie & John 🀍 The groomsmen heading out into the rain before the ceremony to meet the bridesmaids at the car, vicar out front, umbrellas up. I nearly missed this one hiding under a tree from the rain and I'm glad I didn't.

Such an honest little moment from the day and exactly the kind of thing that gets missed if you're not paying attention to what's happening away from the main event. Very English, very real. πŸ˜‚
