Mastering phone camera 📷 This one was extra special: a father-and-son tailored workshop, gifted to the birthday boy by his dad as a voucher. We dove deep into mastering the exposure triangle and putting those concepts into action, not just on a camera, but right on their smartphones using Pro manual settings.
Seeing the young guy’s face light up and the surge in passion for photography is why teaching is so rewarding! Also, he got so hooked on using my camera that I bet he is getting one. One of the shots he made was especially good: great composition, light observation and camera settings; well done! His dad mentioned that on the drive home, he couldn’t stop talking about everything he had learned and how much he loved the experience.

A wonderful way to wrap up the festival. This historic venue made for a fantastic setting for live performances. It was such a great experience working with the festival team and capturing the action from backstage and out front at the Birmingham Town Hall by B:Music . Featuring Sanam Marvi Official, Arieb Azhar and Ustaad Jaan Ali Khan.

A wonderful way to wrap up the festival. This historic venue made for a fantastic setting for live performances, curated by Mukhtar Dar
It was such a great experience working with the festival team and capturing the action from backstage and out front at the Birmingham Town Hall by B:Music. The event hosted many sponsors and VIPs. The acclaimed singer, songwriter and storyteller captivated the audience with a truly unforgettable performance by Arieb Azhar. The event hosted the legendary dhol master Ustaad Jaan Ali Khan.
The vibe of the audience singing along with the headliner, Sanam Marvi Official, was beautiful. One of the most revered voices in contemporary Sufi music, renowned for her powerful interpretations of the poetry of Bulleh Shah, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast and other great Sufi saints.

What an incredible two weeks it has been, featuring everything from the Mango Festival to hosting great bands and artists, and diving deep into rich Pakistani culture. The Spirit of Pakistan Festival truly celebrated heritage and meaningful dialogue. Capturing this much culture and energy has been an absolute privilege. Stay tuned; more pictures are coming soon!💚

The atmosphere at Mac has been electric, filled with passionate artists, dedicated volunteers, and an overwhelmingly welcoming community spirit. Documenting these moments, where diverse heritages are shared and celebrated, reminds me why Birmingham's creative scene is so special.

A few images from the I’m having the privilege of photographing the majority of the festival, and here is a little glimpse. Organized by .dar_ and his amazing team, supported by many organizations and sponsors, this festival is pure magic.
Amazing vibes, and a wonderful team with so many helpful volunteers, working alongside everyone has been an absolute pleasure and so much fun! Add to that beautiful music, stunning artists, inspiring conversations, and a deep, enriching dive into the culture.
On a personal note, this hits close to home. I moved to Birmingham from Stratford specifically for its vibrant, multicultural energy. Having close friends from Pakistan here makes it even more special, and I love how living in Birmingham allows me to continuously explore and immerse myself in different cultures. 🌍💚
The best part? The festival is still ongoing! Most events are happening at leading up to the final grand finale concert on the 15th at Birmingham Town Hall. You still have time to join us and experience it yourself, see you there! 📸

Just shot an eight-event in a row, and what a sweet way to hit the milestone! 🥭😀

Had an absolute blast photographing the Spirit of Pakistan festival today. Lively music of the dhol drums gave unbeatable energy, and endless amounts of delicious mangoes and mango lassi; the vibe was just unmatched. Tomorrow, the movie projection at Midlands Arts Centre - MAC.

The grind doesn’t stop here; just a few more events left in this streak to go! 📸
