One piece of advice I'd give every couple?

Look beyond the portfolio.

Beautiful photographs matter.

But the person behind the camera matters even more.
Long before I photographed weddings, I learnt that working with people is just as important as understanding light.

How to read a room. How to know when to step in and when to quietly disappear. How to keep a couple calm when emotions are high. How to bring gentle direction without ever making a moment feel staged.

A wedding day isn't a styled shoot.

It's changing light, family dynamics, unexpected weather, shifting timelines and moments that happen only once.
My role has never been to simply take photographs.

It's to help you feel at ease.

To notice when you need a moment to breathe. To make portraits feel effortless. To reassure your parents. To fix a veil without anyone asking. To quietly solve problems before you even realise they exist.

The camera is only one part of what I do.

The experience I bring is what allows you to let go and be completely present, knowing someone is always looking after the story.

So when you're choosing your photographer, don't just ask if you love their work.

Ask yourself…
Would I trust this person with one of the most important days of my life?

Because that's what you're really investing in.

Some weddings don't ask to be curated.

They simply ask you to keep up.

Late summer light spilling through the windows of Hengrave Hall. Black tie. Champagne in hand. White florals.

Then...the music started.

SOL & The Gang turned the atmosphere into beautiful chaos.

Shoes were abandoned, ties loosened, voices disappeared into the chorus, and nobody wanted the night to end.

The kind of wedding that feels wonderfully old world, yet completely alive.

Someone once said your wedding photographs are the first family heirlooms you'll ever create...and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

Because they're so much more than images.

The way future generations will learn your story.

The laughter, the nerves, the embraces, the people who stood beside you, and the love that filled the room.

From practising your first kiss (yes, really) to standing on the right side of the aisle and taking your time as you walk back down together, these are the little things I wish every couple knew.

I've photographed hundreds of weddings, so consider this advice from someone who's seen it all.
