Paris and Michael. What a day.

A stunning couple. Beautiful people. Perfect summer weather.

The flowers by Brackens of Bowness were something else. Everywhere you looked there was colour, texture and detail.

But more than that, the whole day just felt good. Relaxed. Fun. Full of energy.

Amazing guests. Plenty of laughs. A packed dance floor. The kind of wedding that reminds you why you love photographing them in the first place..

“The Fussells” got married at the stunning Hidden River on one of the hottest days we’ve had in a while.

From start to finish, it was just a genuinely lovely day to be part of. These two were an absolute dream to photograph, completely relaxed, up for a laugh and clearly having the time of their lives.

It was also great catching up with Pat Holt on video and Simon Vogt, who somehow manages to be an excellent toastmaster and DJ all in the same day.

A few favourites from a beautiful wedding, amazing people and a lot of sunshine. Hidden River really does look pretty special when the weather turns up.

Some weddings just make your job look easy.

Abbie and Barry’s day at New House Farm looked like something straight out of a styled shoot, but every moment was completely real. No awkward posing, no forcing anything. Just two people having the best day with their favourite people.

And when I suggested heading up the hill for a few photos, Abbie didn’t hesitate. She climbed it in heels without a second thought.

Those are usually the couples who end up with the best photos. Up for an adventure, happy to trust the process and focused on enjoying the day rather than worrying about the camera.

One of those weddings where everything just felt easy. Everyone outside enjoying the sunshine, drinks flowing, music on, people actually present in the moment…

There was a little bit of rain later on, but nothing that changed the vibe of the day. If anything, it made it feel even more like a proper British wedding 😂

April in Cumbria usually means umbrellas, but for Charlotte and Ian at Hidden River, the weather missed the memo. It was a proper summer day in the middle of April….absolutely roasting and without a cloud in sight.
There was a brilliant, easy-going energy to the whole day. It didn’t feel like a stiff, formal event; it just felt like a massive, sun-drenched celebration with a group of truly lovely people. A perfect day for a perfect couple.

Spring weddings just have a different feel to them …..lighter, slower, a bit more relaxed.

This day was full of the kind of moments that don’t need much direction… just being present, taking it in, and letting everything unfold.

The in-between bits, the quiet glances, the way the day settles as the light changes ….that’s always what I’m drawn to most.
