Looking back at Biddenden Tractorfest from last month...

The showground includes several arenas and the first one you'll come across concentrates on animal demonstrations. This year, as a new dog owner myself, I enjoyed watching Cwnsaethu Gundog Training & Topgun K9 Fertility from Tenterden, with their demonstration of dog training.

Alas, our own mutt has got a way to go before he shows this level of attention!

Looking back at Biddenden Tractorfest from August.

One of the joys of Tractorfest is that, if you live in Biddenden itself, you can easily walk to the site. No need to follow the main road, instead you can enjoy fresh air and bird song by crossing the fields, using our well-maintained public footpaths.

Not quite sure of the way? No problem! For the third year, the ever helpful Tom Claykens organised a free guided walk on both days of the Fest. I was pleased to join adults, children, and quite a few dogs for an easy stroll and conversation, reaching the site almost before we knew it. Thanks, Tom!

Think of Biddenden Tractorfest and this is the sort of thing that will probably come to mind first! Tractors old and new, small and large. All lovingly looked after, including the Ferguson in the bottom photo, which I am told was the rarest tractor on the field.

But Tractorfest isn't JUST about tractors, as I will be showing in more photos over the next week or so...

The UK Bank Holiday weekend has got going with its traditional rain. So you may well have decided to stay in for another leisurely coffee. Here's a quick read about somewhere you might like to visit once the clouds have cleared.

I've written a short blog about my little home village of Biddenden. It will tell you what it's got to offer visitors, especially from the perspective of a photographer who's looking for something to point their camera at. And you might be surprised to hear that I found quite a variety of opportunities, even in a village that is not a lot more than two roads coming to a junction!

If you're in Kent, it might inspire you to visit Biddenden. Even if not, it might encourage you to look with fresh eyes around your own area, as I believe that every locality has something to offer.

If you DO decide to visit, fire me a message and we can go for a coffee after you've had your mooch around!

Some phone snaps from last night's production of Shaky's "Much Ado" by Changeling Theatre at Sissinghurst Castle - National Trust last night.

Huge fun from this group as always, with lots of audience involvement and maximum silliness extracted from the orchard scene in the first half. Then the drama ramps up in the second part, with some spine tingling speeches as the comedy is paused for treachery and looks set for tragedy.

Great performances in a fabulous setting. Well done to all involved!

What does a local photographer make of Folkestone in Kent?

Sculptures by Antony Gormley, a giant seagull and some cool portholes in the local multi-storey car park, that's what!
