A rare and beautiful trip out together with Ray ( we’ve not managed many this year due to my health ) . Braunton Burrows gifted us quite a few magic moments including a male and female brown Argus perfectly settled on fleabane ( they settled within inches of me 🥹🥹 I almost hyperventilated when they landed ), dozens of common blues and small heaths and some specific rarities - a villa dune bee fly ( never knew it existed 🥰 we love beeflies ), and a dune bear spider and a pantaloon bee amongst sightings. It almost didn’t happen though , this photo shoot as my camera card failed spectacularly not long after we arrived at the reserve.. fortunately I’m organised ( I AM at some aspects of life despite the dyspraxia ) and had a spare card in my camera bag. Which meant that we arrived at just the right moment for the brown Argus and other special little things that we saw. The visit did us both the world of good . . You might find a rare image of me and ray amidst this set.

I’m taking my time with my photos over coming days ( and do still have a nice little collection I’m working on from my weekend in Somerset ). For some reason I had energy this morning to visit Sampford Courtenay ( started at Honeychurch actually… ) to seek out the scarecrows in the trail. I have a full set of the 17 and they’re all beautiful , inventive, creative and different. Will have to see which I add later but , meantime the golden hour as I arrived at Sampford Courtenay offered some wonderful light and these are my immediate 3 favourites .

I had a fabulous visit to Growing Well Garden this morning ( thank you to Dr Susan ( Susan ) for reminding me .
Unbelievably a stunning male Clouded Yellow visited the flower borders whilst I was actually doing my big butterfly count and I got a few pictures including one of him with his wings open. The very ( totally covered I think ) pollinated buff tailed bumble bee , and lots of species of hoverfly ( including myathropa florea the Batman hoverfly - look at his back to see the unmistakeable Batman logo there ), and a silver y moth as well as dozens of butterflies made the morning very special and i was made to feel very welcome on my visit.
Cup of tea after my hard work counting the butterflies , also very welcome .
See you all soon ( and the selection of images goes to show the sheer variety of pollinators visiting the garden. I’ve photographed 13 different species I think… butterflies counted for the big butterfly count 22 small whites 7 large whites 1 gatekeeper 1 silver y moth and the beautiful clouded yellow.

Wishing all my friends and followers a Blessed Buck Full Moon. 🌕✨

Sometimes, seeing things a little differently—like catching the moon refracted , or reflected , and glowing in unexpected ways—reminds us that there is always beauty to be found if we just change our perspective.

This powerful moon is a wonderful reminder , for us to release what no longer serves us, clearing the path to embrace our unique gifts and soul purpose.

Here’s to setting fresh intentions, stepping forward into light and making the most of every single moment.
Sending deep hope, strength, and healing energy to everyone especially those navigating a tough time right now .
May we all open our hearts to the blessings the universe puts our way. ✨🌿

I’m attaching some pictures i took about an hour or two ago , and I did look at the moon differently tonight , and noticed the reflections in the village hall windows. Hopefully they bring some joy 🥹.

As I’m in bed again today ( and all good, radical rest is absolutely the best thing for me at the moment ) I’ve finished editing my other pictures from my nature time out yesterday morning . I was very pleased indeed to find a freshly emerged small tortoiseshell on red valerian, at Providence. Must get some of this to start growing in our little garden. Other pictures taken at Throwleigh, Shilstone fairy glen , East Ash, and Aysh. We are so blessed to have so many beautiful places so close to home .
