Some of us were just born to be a little too excited about moss, old houses, sheep in the road, Highland cows, moody weather, tiny villages, things that might be haunted, and anything found in an antique shop.

Scotland just happens to have a super sweet amount of all of the above.

Anyone else? 🐑🌿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

These two have been best friends since they were little girls. Now they’re raising kids who are growing up together, too. Their friendship has become part of their children’s childhood, and I think it needs to be memorialized.

This session hit especially close to home for me because Erika was/is part of MY village. She was our nanny and helped me raise my own kids. She was there for the ordinary days. The chaotic ones. The beautiful ones. She loved my children so well and that kind of love is still felt in them today.

It made me realize that so many of the people who help shape our lives are barely in the photos.

The best friend who shows up every week.
The neighbor who becomes family.
The aunt who’s always there.
The nanny who is also your bestie.
The people your kids run to without thinking twice.

They’re part of your story, too.

So maybe this is your sign to book the photoshoot with your village… but because one day your kids will look back and remember the people who helped raise them.

Methinks those people deserve a place in the family album
