📸 The colours of Spring reflected on the calm waters of Loch Leven

🚗 Many people visit Glencoe via the main road however if you have the time you should take a detour into Kinlochleven, where you will be able to drive alongside views just like this one.

Do you think you would like to take this detour from the popular Glen Coe route?

📸 The Great North of Scotland Railway Office.

🤔 Now this is a peculiar one, it may seem like a railway line once made its way through the quaint little town of Braemar, however this is not the case.

😮 This Railway office was in-fact a bus depot that operated as an extension to railway stations such as that in Ballater (a nearby village which had an operational railway station, used regularly by Royals when visiting Balmoral) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

👀 The building is now partially demolished and is in a state of disrepair, however the front facade and rooms are still in tact and you can peer through the windows for a look back in time 🕰️

📸 Grey Mares Waterfall, Kinlochleven

👉🏼swipe for a wider perspective 👀

✅ I have been wanting to shoot this waterfall for a wee while now, and I tell you what, it is an awesome place to visit.

🥾The walk to the waterfall is unique as it is the beginning of a Via ferrata route, you walk along these wooden planks while holding onto metal rope that is bolted to the rocks… quite an adventure.

📍I would highly recommend visiting these stunning waterfalls, the walk is short and it is only a wee detour from the popular Glen Coe road.

Hogwarts Bound 🚂

🧙🏼‍♀️The Hogwarts express, otherwise known as the Jacobite Steam Train makes a daily journey from Fort William to Mallaig 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

✅ There are two amazing ways to experience this Scottish icon:

1. Book a ticket for a seat on the train and experience what Harry, Hermione and Ron experienced on their first journey to Hogwarts.

2. Come to Glenfinnan for 1015 to watch the train cross the famous Harry Potter Bridge (Glenfinnan Viaduct) at around 1045.

🏔️If you choose to book a seat on the train you will start your journey at the base of the UKs highest mountain, Ben Nevis and end your journey by Loch Nevis which is Europe’s deepest sea loch⚓️

🎥 You will also steam past the famous silver sands of Arisaig that have been used for various films and TV shows such as “Local Hero”, “Highlander” and “Hamish Macbeth”.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, save this post for later when you are planning your adventures 👇🏼

📸 The sun catching a small fishing boat as it sails up Loch Leven

Originally this shot was to be focused on the mountain in the background and I was waiting for the sun to catch the bright greens of the spring trees🌳

🛥️But just as the sun came out this small fishing boat chugged into the frame and the timing was perfect.

Do you think the small boat makes this photo better?

Swipe to see the sunset 🌅

Sometimes I can’t believe how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 where there are stunning beaches such as this one, Camusdaruch beach by Arisaig 🏖️

🎞️Now some of you keen beans may recognise these scenes from some famous Scottish films and TV shows such as Local Hero and Hamish Macbeth. If you haven’t watched them I highly recommend you do, especially if you enjoy a good laugh, see if you can spot this location too 👀

📸 Church Door Buttress, Glen Coe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Who loves the colours of the Scottish landscapes? I love the dark bronze colours that cover the Scottish mountains in the colder months of spring and autumn🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

⛰️ I have taken many photos in Glen Coe, sometimes successfully and sometimes not so 😂. Yet, the landscape looks completely different every time, depending on the light, the weather, my focus and many other factors.

🤔 I think that is what makes Scottish landscape photography so exciting; you could shoot the same scene hundreds of times but get many different perspectives ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
