CityView Business Park, Tullos, Aberdeen - 30th August 2026

Back in March this year it was reported that demolition plans had been submitted to Aberdeen City Council for the four offices blocks in Tullos by the new owners Parks of Hamilton.

As you can see works have now started and by the level of progress by Dem-Master Demolition Limited in the last 3 weeks it wont be long until there are 100% gone.

We will be nipping in past from time to time to get some interesting shots.

M&G Prudential Building, Stirling - August 2026

The M&G Prudential building campus at Craigforth, Stirling is currently derelict after M&G relocated its operations.

The 1970s modernist office complex located off the M9 has been empty since 2022 when workers moved to a newly built eco-friendly site at the nearby M&G Kildean Business Park.

Since being abandoned the 54-hectare campus has suffered from extreme decay and vandalism with major structural damage including smashed windows, graffiti and stripped roofing. Additionally earlier this year there was a wilful fire but hopefully soon the building will be demolished as planning was resubmitted and approved for this to go ahead after expiring.

Park Street, Aberdeen - Fire Damaged Houses - August 2026

A week today this already fire damaged properties were on fire for the 3rd time with emergency services called to extinguish.

It was later reported that the fire was being treated as deliberate and that three youths had been charged.

But why were the properties empty?
The first fire happened in May 2024 when in the early hours of the morning a large fire ripped through one of the properties causing substantial damage including the roof structure.

The property next door had also sustained damage but reported to be mainly by smoke but had moved out soon after. However just less than a year later in April 2025 both empty properties were on fire and this time it was described as "wilful" and enquiries were ongoing.

for me, am just shocked at how long it has taken to fix the properties or demolish and rebuild as now both are beyond saving.

Petrofac - CB&I Asset Solutions - August 2026

In a massive corporate move following Petrofac Limited entering administration, Petrofac successfully completed the sale of its UK Asset Solutions business to US firm CB&I. This strategic move preserved roughly 3,000 North Sea energy jobs.

Following the sale of Petrofac's UK-based business, CB&I Asset Solutions announced a major physical move. They are leaving the long-standing Petrofac-branded building at North Esplanade West in Aberdeen to relocate to a new 103,000 sq. ft. base at Caledonia House within the Prime Four Business Park in Kingswells.

Planning permission has been submitted to change the existing signage at the new site to CB&I.

Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) - Saturday 15th August

Not been here for a few months, even though I see it from my main job daily but here is an updated pictures showing the vessel sitting in the Sandford Bay where the horizontal directional drilling team is drilling to and has drilled too for the cables.

Progress has also been made on the HUGE sheds being built around the original concrete structures which forms part of the Converter Stations.

The Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) is a £4.3 billion electricity superhighway currently under construction to connect the north of Scotlandsto Yorkshire via a massive subsea transmission cable.

Managed as a joint venture between SSEN Transmission and National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), it stands as the single largest electricity transmission project in UK history.

The system is designed to transmit 2 gigawatts (GW) of clean, renewable energy-enough to power approximately two million British homes.

Berryden Corridor Improvement Project - 15th August 2026

Aerial pictures of the work that's started on the Berryden Corridor Improvement Project.

But what Is It?
The Berryden Corridor Improvement Project is a major £55 million road-widening and infrastructure overhaul in Aberdeen designed to eliminate a notorious traffic pinch point between the city centre and the north. Long delayed and decades in discussion, the project officially achieved a major milestone with the commencement of site demolitions to clear the path for a new dual carriageway.

A £370,000 demolition phase is underway. Crews are actively leveling long-vacant properties and derelict infrastructure-such as buildings along Skene Square, Caroline Place, Hutcheon Street, and the old Ashgrove Substation-to clear space for the expanded lanes.
