I have this over a hundred year old yellow gold engagement ring that I bought at an auction years ago to melt into material. I really like the shape and massiviness of the ring, and I haven’t been tempted to melt it and have worn the ring myself. The only problem has been that it’s a bit too big for me.

Now I finally got a pair for my engagement ring with the same profile as possible. I have a colleague’s ancient rolling mill at my disposal in the workshop and with that I can roll a high-profile material for rings. I made the silver ring a little smaller than the gold one so now the gold ring can safely be used as a combination (in the picture). And I think the combo is great!

The gold ring has an engraving on it, which is why I haven’t been able to melt it either:
M & F 19.12.20. So it’s almost 105 years old and the lives of these people continue on my finger.

Minulla on tämä yli sata vuotta vanha keltakultainen kihlasormus, jonka ostin vuosia sitten huutokaupasta materiaaliksi sulatettavaksi. Pidän paljon sormuksen muodosta ja jykevyydestä, enkä ole hennonnut sulattaa sitä ja olen käyttänyt sormusta itse. Ongelmana vain on ollut, että se on minulle hieman liian iso.

Nyt viimein sain kihlasormukselle parin, jossa on mahdollisimman samanlainen profiili. Työhuoneellani on kollegan ikivanha valssauslaite, jolla saa valssattua korkeaprofiilista sormusaihiota. Tein hopeisesta sormuksesta hieman kultaista pienemmän, joten nyt kultasormusta voi turvallisesti käyttää kuvan yhdistelmänä. Ja kombo on minusta hieno!

Kultasormuksessa on kaiverrus, minkä takia en myöskään ole voinut sulattaa sitä:
M & F 19.12.20. Se on siis kohta 105 vuotta ja näiden henkilöiden elämä jatkuu sormessani. ❤️

A similar Bling Bling ring went to a customer some while ago. The stone set in the ring is 10 mm in diameter (!) and the one in the picture is prasiolite.
Beautiful green, isn’t it? 🪩

Tätä vastaava Bling Bling -sormus lähti asiakkaan matkaan jokin aika sitten. Sormukseen istutettava kivi on halkaisijaltaan 10 mm (!) ja kuvassa on prasioliitti. Kaunis vihreä, eikö?
