Helen & Vincent — Part 2 | Mallorca Elopement

Helen & Vincent wanted a Mallorca elopement experience that felt a little different.

Not the usual Valldemossa, Sóller, Deià or Palma, but something that felt more authentic to the island. That’s why we chose the north. Wild landscapes. Fewer people.

We walked along the coast together, chasing the last light for a dreamy sunset shoot...intimate, effortless, and with plenty of space for creativity.

And we finished the evening with a flash-lit session through the streets of Artà.

A little wild, a little dreamy, and the kind of day you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

This is what I love about being a Mallorca elopement photographer - creating something that feels personal to you, rather than simply following the usual route.

Olympia & Chris came back to Vienna for a few reasons.

They got married in Australia last August, but Vienna had already been part of their story for years. They got engaged in front of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, and Olympia’s grandmother lived in Vienna before the Second World War.

So when they planned their trip through Europe, coming back to Vienna felt inevitable.

They reached out early this year, and in March we sat down over Zoom to talk through their vision. One thing was especially important to them: 35mm film photography.

So we photographed their Vienna session on both colour and black & white film, alongside digital.

There’s something I love about bringing these two worlds together. The precision and flexibility of digital with the grain, imperfections and nostalgia of film. The result feels refined, but never too polished. Alive. Like you can almost remember the light, the air, the way the moment felt.

That balance is a big part of what I look for in my work as a wedding and elopement photographer in Vienna and across Europe: photographs that feel timeless and considered, but still have something a little unexpected about them.

And lately, I’ve been especially lucky with the couples I get to photograph. So many are creatives themselves, and I really appreciate that. People who love art, care about design, notice the details and are open to a different approach. People who don’t necessarily want their photographs to look like everyone else’s.

I think that makes for a pretty good match.

Your wedding day doesn’t always have to be the only chapter.

When Filiz & Thomas first reached out in February 2025 about photographing their wedding this August, I was already booked for another wedding.

In the middle of wedding season, availability is very limited - so when they reached out again shortly after their wedding for an after-wedding shooting in Eisenstadt, Austria, I was especially happy that we found a day that worked.

An after-wedding session offers something a wedding day rarely can: unhurried time.

No schedule to follow.
No guests waiting.
Just the two of you, beautifully dressed, completely present, and free to enjoy the experience.

Sometimes the wedding day moves faster than you expect. You spend months planning every detail, and then suddenly it is over...a blur of champagne, embraces, laughter and fleeting moments.

An after-wedding shoot lets you return to that feeling, without the pressure.

For Filiz & Thomas, the timing was almost cinematic. A little rain had passed just before we met, leaving the surroundings soft and atmospheric. And as soon as we finished, the rain returned.

We couldn’t have timed it better.

Theresa & Alexander celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful Schottenkirche and Park Hyatt Vienna.

They wanted their day to feel nostalgic and timeless, so I also captured it on 35mm film...the little in-between moments, the movement, the grain, and all the details that made the day feel uniquely theirs.

Because film has a way of bringing you back to how it actually felt.

My job isn’t to hand you a pose and expect you to recreate it perfectly. I guide you through small, natural movements so the final images feel refined and natural.

I'll gently guide you on where to stand.
Where to place your hands.
Where to look.
When to slow down.
And when to simply forget about me.

I look for flattering angles.
I use movement instead of stiff posing.
I give you something to do so you never feel lost.
I I create space for genuine moments to happen.
And I’ll always look for the best available light...the soft window light, the glow at golden hour, the light falling through the trees ...and use what’s naturally around you to create that honest, aesthetic & timeless feeling.

So brides: you don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose. You just need to trust and enjoy your big day.

Helen & Vincent — Part I | Es Racó d’Artà & sunrise vows

When Helen & Vincent travelled all the way from Australia to Mallorca for their elopement, our collaboration started long before they arrived.

From the very beginning, we worked closely together to create a timeline that felt relaxed & effortless, intentional, and completely true to them. We had a few calls to talk about their vision and go through all the details. Leaving enough space for the day to unfold naturally, while still making the most of every beautiful moment, was important to all three of us.

And then, finally, we all arrived in Artà.

We started their Mallorca elopement at Es Racó d’Artà, surrounded by lush nature, with a relaxed morning getting ready...no rush, no pressure, just the two of them settling into the feeling of the day ahead.

And then came their first look.

On the beautiful staircase right next to their suite, Helen and Vincent saw each other for the first time that morning. A quiet, intimate moment before the rest of their elopement day began.

From there, we made our way through the hotel grounds for a portrait session, followed by their vow exchange in the beautiful morning light.

Golden morning light. A beautiful place. And two people who had travelled halfway around the world to make this day their own.

Surrounded by lush nature and beautiful morning light, everything felt effortless and peaceful. No rush. No pressure to move on to the next thing. And honestly, I think that’s such an important way to start a wedding or elopement day.

Having time to wake up, take it all in, and simply enjoy the beginning of the day.

These quiet moments are often some of my favourites to photograph, because nothing is really “happening”, and yet so much is.

But before you choose a colour palette because it’s timeless, trending, or everywhere, ask yourself: is it yours?

Your wedding should feel like YOU...not like the moodboard everyone else saved.

Choose the colours you love. The combinations that excite you. The details that feel unmistakably yours.

White & green? Gorgeous.
But so is choosing something completely unexpected.

Your wedding. Your vision. Your rules.

If you want beautiful detail photos, don’t skip this.

One of the things I’ve learned as a wedding photographer in Mallorca and beyond is that the best detail photos usually aren’t about having more things.

It's all about having the right things ready and giving me enough time to actually photograph them well.

A few things I always recommend to my couples:

1. Have everything in one place.
Rings, invitation suite, shoes, perfume, jewelry, vow books, ribbons, stationery, heirlooms… whatever you want photographed. Put it all together before I arrive. It saves so much time, especially on a busy wedding morning.

2. Don’t forget the meaningful things.
Your grandmother’s ring. A handwritten note....Those are often my favorite things to photograph because they actually belong to your story.

3. Keep your invitation suite complete.
If possible, have the full set ready. If you have beautiful paper goods, ribbons or stamps, keep those too. Ask your florist to set aside a few loose flowers. They make such a difference when I’m styling your details.

4. Give me time.
This one makes a huge difference. I don’t want to photograph your details in a rush between getting dressed and leaving for the ceremony. When I have a little breathing room, I can look for the best light, play with shadows and shoot your details from diferent angles.

5. Choose a photographer whose style you genuinely love.
Every photographer sees things differently. A creative, experienced photographer won’t just capture the typical detail shots...they’ll look for more artistic, unexpected images too. That creative eye makes a huge difference.

You don’t need to buy a whole collection of extra details just for your photos.

Bring the things that matter to you, have them ready, and give your photographer the time and freedom to create.

Those little things become part of your wedding story and years from now, they’ll bring you right back to how the day felt.
